A step-by-step route for an Undead Paladin from 1 to 30 in WoW Forever. This is a brand-new combo: Forsaken paladins have their own order at Bandarion Keep and their own class quest chain - Holy Light at level 2, a two-handed mace and a shield at 11, Redemption at 12, and by 30 a two-handed sword of your own, Wolfsbane. Here you'll find where to go at every level, what order to do the class quests in so you don't cross Tirisfal more often than you need to, which weapons to take and how to stop running out of mana.

Addons
What to install from CurseForge for Forever: the useful and the fun
Maps inside dungeons:Dungeon Crawler Forever shows floors, passages, bosses and quests. Open it with /dm. Its data changes with the beta: double-check quest requirements in game. More conveniences, screenshots and highlight commands - in the useful addons guide.
How to install. In the CurseForge app, add the game with the “+” button and point it to your Forever client folder - a Forever tab appears. Manually on the beta: the _classic_beta_\Interface\AddOns folder. Addons for regular Classic won't work - you need a file marked Forever (1.60.1). ★ - our pick.
Already in the game - no addon needed: coordinates on the map and minimap (turn them on in the settings), quest objectives on the map (the “Enhanced” template at first login, or the quest objectives option), a damage meter, a swing timer, the Cooldown Manager, one combined bag, an equipment manager and a modern auction house. Not in the game: a threat meter, markers for quests you haven't picked up yet, and a /way command.
Quests and map
★ Questie - who gives quests and where the objectives are, on the map and minimap. It still lacks some of the new Forever quests.
★ TomTom - an arrow to a point. The coordinates on this site copy as a /way command for it.
★ Leatrix Maps - reveals unexplored parts of the map, shows dungeon entrances, and the map can be enlarged.
Forever Quest Tint - tints the text of new Forever quests, so you see at a glance what's new.
Conveniences
★ Leatrix Plus - auto quest turn-in, junk selling, repairs, fast loot and dozens of small things. There's a separate version for Forever.
★ Baganator - proper bags and bank: the built-in combined bag can't be moved. A similar one - Bagnon.
★ Auctionator - posts auctions quickly, remembers prices and shows them in tooltips.
★ Platynator - draws neat bars above mobs and marks the ones you need for a quest. Very handy while leveling.
Professions
★ GatherLite - herbs, ore and fish on the map: it already ships with more than 26 thousand points made for Forever.
GatherMate2 - the same, but it only remembers points as you gather them yourself.
For fun: voiceover and dialogue
★ Spoken - English voiceover for quests, books and zones. On the Forever forums it gets the most praise: “like an audiobook”. More in the addons guide.
★ Immersion - movie-style NPC dialogue instead of the usual quest window.
Optional
Details! or ThreatClassic2 - threat in dungeons: the built-in damage meter doesn't show it.
Easy Experience Bar - experience per hour and how much is left to the next level.
Dungeon Journal - dungeon quests and loot: Forever has no dungeon journal of its own.
WeakAuras has no Forever version; use the fork ForeverAuras instead (it can do what the built-in Cooldown Manager sees).
For mail, instead of Postal try Forever Mail: recipient picker, mail history and attachment lists. More in the general addons guide.
Zygor and ElvUI aren't installed through CurseForge.
Combat “helpers” that do calculations are banned in Forever, as in the modern game: addons may display, but not calculate.
For paladins
Healing a group? Install an addon with party frames and click-to-heal: HealBot Continued or the compact Grid2. Click an ally's frame and Holy Light goes to them. Both have a Forever version.
Tanking (Righteous Fury)? Install a threat meter: ThreatClassic2 (the “forever” version) or Details! from the “Optional” card. The built-in damage meter doesn't show threat, and the indicators above mobs change color too late.

Leveling talents
Builds for 10–30: which one to pick and in what order to spend points
Your first talent point comes at level 10, then one per level: by 30 you have 21 points. Not sure what to pick? Go “Retribution: Two-Hander” - it needs the least drinking and downtime when you play solo. You can reset your talents at a paladin trainer in a capital: Garen Largo in Undercity or Alodan the Hopeful in Thunder Bluff. Hover a talent for its Wowhead tooltip; the button at the bottom opens the build in the Wowhead calculator with the same order.
Retribution: Two-Handermain0 / 0 / 21Mana first, then slow two-hander damage and +15% run speed. It matches the Wowhead level 30 build exactly, and the first 11 points match the wow.gg and Wowhead builds for level 20.
Pros:Benediction at 10–14 makes seals, Judgement, Holy Strike and blessings 10% cheaper: you drink less from the very first point. Improved Judgement - Judgement every 8 seconds. Sanctified Judgement at 20–22 returns 60% of a seal's cost with every Judgement - your seal and Judgement cycle barely costs any mana.
Seal of Command at 23 - for a slow two-hander (speed 3.0 and up). Pursuit of Justice at 24–25 - +15% run speed: a paladin has no other speed boosts. Sacred Arbiter at 26: Holy Strike hits 20% harder and refreshes your Judgements on the target. At 30 - Vengeance: after a crit your damage goes up, stacking up to three times.
Cons: until 20 your damage is average - the points go into mana, not damage. Your seals aren't boosted: this build has no Improved Seals.
Holy + Retribution: damage from 10if you want damage right away8 / 0 / 138 points in Holy for Strength and seals, 13 in Retribution. This is what Method and the Wowhead level 20 overview recommend.
Pros: damage right away from 10 to 17: Divine Strength gives +10% Strength, Improved Seals gives +15% damage to all seals and Judgements. Then Benediction for mana, and at 23–24 Holy Conduit: Consecration costs 40% less - handy for pulling 3–4 mobs at a time.
Cons: this build has no Seal of Command and no Vengeance; until level 18 your mana is worse than in the main build. At level 30 Wowhead no longer recommends Holy for damage.
Protection: shield and Seal of Furyif you tank dungeons0 / 21 / 0For duoing with a healer and for dungeons: mana from blocks, a Judgement taunt and a strong shield at 30. Shield only.
Pros:Redoubt raises your block chance after you get hit. Shield Specialization at 20–22 - your shield absorbs 30% more, and every block gives 4% mana (no more than once every 3 seconds). Improved Seal of Fury at 23 - mana when the absorb from your seal is used up (it comes from Seal of Fury). Swift Judgement at 25 resets the Judgement cooldown - a lifesaver when a mob gets loose. At 30 - Templar's Bulwark: an absorb the size of your health for 8 seconds.
Cons: slower than the main build when solo. Tanks on the beta forums write that if you start in Protection, your mana runs out fast on three or more mobs - for solo leveling, Retribution is the better choice.
Holy: healer with Holy Shock at 30if you're the group healer21 / 0 / 0Up to 17 the points are the same as in “Holy + Retribution”; from 20 your mana regenerates even while you heal, and at 30 you get Holy Shock.
Pros:Divine Strength and Improved Seals at 10–17 - damage for solo play. Healing Light - healing 12% stronger. Reverence at 20–22: you keep 30% of your mana regeneration even while casting. Divine Favor at 25 - a guaranteed crit when an ally is about to die. At 30 - Holy Shock: a heal or damage, 10-second cooldown.
Cons: after 20 it's slower than Retribution when solo: Holy Shock as an attack eats a lot of mana.
For a pure healer: put your first 5 points into Divine Intellect 5/5, not Strength.
The undead starting village · your first paladin quests
0 of 24
Every quest is within five minutes' walk: step out of the crypt, take everything in sight and do it all in a loop - about 40 minutes. Combat is simple for now: put Seal of Righteousness on yourself and hit. Save your mana for healing, not for a second seal.
The professions for a paladin are Mining and Skinning (the “Professions” section explains why). A junior trainer teaches one for 10, and the book from Marla's Last Wish[5] gives you the other.
Leave Meven Korgal (the Scarlet courier) alone until you have the quest The Red Messenger[5], otherwise you'll have to wait for him to respawn.
When you turn in The Red Messenger[5], the Executor gives you the new quest The Adventurer[6] - it leads to the camp near Brill and unlocks the camping system.
◈ Loot along the way
Save your Linen (Linen Cloth): the level 12 class quest A Lesson in Divinity[12] asks for 10 pieces, and without it you won't learn Redemption. Any extra goes into bandages.

Cannibalize on a humanoid or undead corpse restores up to 35% health and mana over 10 seconds, every 2 minutes. It's free food and water between mobs - less sitting and drinking.

Do The Great Outdoors[6] and Camping 101: Cooking[6] right away: in Forever, food with the “Well Fed” effect also gives +5% experience, so you want Cooking from the very start.

Scarlet Insignia Rings for Proof of Demise[7] drop from the Scarlet Crusade all over Tirisfal - turn them in when you pass by.
At level 10 Shari Stilwell gives you A Second Home[11] - the road to Bandarion Keep. That's where you get a two-handed mace, a shield and the start of the chain for Redemption.

Oliver Dwor : the two-handed Wooden Mallet≈ 7 (level 4) - 5 DPS against 1.4 for the starting hammer. The best buy until level 11; the RestedXP route for Forever buys it too.

Darkhound and duskbat hides you don't need for the quest - sell them at the Undercity auction house.

Undercity: first visit
The potion quest, professions and the hearthstone
0 of 5
Undercity is a stone's throw from Brill. There's nothing class-related here yet: you'll need the paladin trainer Garen Largo at 14. Come for the potion quest, professions and the hearthstone - at 12 it takes you from Bandarion Keep straight to the class quest.

A short visit: the quests around the Sepulcher
0 of 17
Take only what's near the Sepulcher, then hearth to Undercity. Leave the far quests (Ambermill, Fenris Isle) for 20+: that's also where the class chain for your blade begins. New in Forever: Prove Your Worth[10] starts at level 12, and Wild Hearts[11] needs only 3 hearts.
Don't forget in this section
Don't sell the Discolored Worg Hearts - they're for Wild Hearts[11]. It's a normal item, so you can collect them in advance.
The Ruins of Lordaeron quest at the Sepulcher (A Frightened Request[22]) is only offered from level 15 - you'll take it when you come back here at 20+.
Gnolls, Dalaran humans and murlocs are humanoids: use Cannibalize after a fight and skip the water.
From level 11 death brings “Resurrection Sickness”, but a short one: (level − 10) minutes and −25% durability. If all that's left is turning in quests at the Sepulcher, dying still pays off: the sickness doesn't stop you from turning in quests.

Nothing urgent at the trainer at 16: you'll learn Retribution Aura and Righteous Fury together with your level 18 and 20 ranks in Thunder Bluff (step).
A new weapon skill starts at 1, so at first your axe misses a lot. Once you have an axe, raise the skill on mobs slightly below your level (it doesn't go up on gray ones), and keep the mace in your bags for tough fights.
Plainstrider and beast meat goes into Cooking - Tari'qa in the Crossroads sells the recipes. Wool from centaurs and Razormane goes into Wool Bandages.
⚔︎ PvP
The Barrens are Horde land: on PvP realms your flag doesn't turn on here by itself, but any Alliance player's does. Still, the Crossroads are a classic raid target: a crowd in blue at the gate - check their levels first, then play the hero.
A paladin has no real interrupt or slow - only the Hammer of Justice stun. Against an Alliance caster - Hammer of Justice on their cast; against a rogue or warrior - Divine Protection, and heal calmly under it: no one can touch you for 6 seconds.
Back to the pirate camp: the “Drizzlik's Emporium” crate and the “Fragile - Do Not Drop” crate - Stolen Booty[16]. Then Gazlowe: turn in ?Stolen Booty[16] - take Padded Lamellar Boots (mail boots, +2 Strength).

Chol'aruk the Ravener[21] - the elite Chol'aruk (level 20) with elite guards: better with two. According to beta data, this quest gives triple experience in Forever, and the two-hander reward is Big Bad Basher: a mace with 16 DPS and +4 Strength.
Heads, tusks and adornments only drop while you have the quests - take everything at the Crossroads and Taurajo before you go hunting.
The Barrens rares Humar the Pridelord (level 23 elite) and Takk the Leaper drop set pieces: according to Wowhead, two of the items give +5% run speed in the Barrens and Stonetalon. If you see one, don't walk past.
From 20 you have Consecration: Bristlebacks and Razormanes stand in groups of two or three - pull the pack, drop Consecration at your feet and fight. Don't waste it on a single mob: it only pays off in full on 4 targets, and it costs a lot of mana.

Clear Stonetalon and get the flight path at Sun Rock Retreat - you'll need it both at the end of this section and at 27.
Don't forget in this section
The Elder Crone[18] starts a chain that takes you to Tarren Mill and back. Its quests open strictly one after another - be sure to take it.
Stonetalon is the first contested zone on the route: on PvP realms your flag turns on here by itself. The Alliance from Stonetalon Peak quests at Windshear Crag - on the same goblins as you.
Two rare elites roam here - a Venture Co. overseer and a foreman. Go around them. If the goblin dies, the quest fails: abandon Gerenzo's Orders[22] and take it again when he's back. Doesn't work the second time either? Abandon it and later turn in only Super Reaper 6000[21]. While you guard the goblin, keep the attackers on yourself: drop Consecration at your feet.
How to do this quest - Gerenzo's Orders
Two waves: first three level 21 fighters, then two fighters and two casters of level 22–23. Very hard solo at 21 - bring a friend.
The seeds are small brown cones on the ground around the lake, at about six spots. Turn down grass density in the graphics settings and they become visible.
Want to visit Ashenvale? First go to western Ashenvale. If not - Tharm: fly to the Crossroads. Don't use your hearthstone: you'll need it at Bandarion Keep (step).
The hearthstone has a one-hour cooldown, and the keep is less than an hour of play from here: use it now and it'll still be on cooldown there.

New Forever quests and the Zoram'gar flight path
0 of 4
About 6–7 thousand experience and the Zoram'gar flight path (useful for Blackfathom Deeps and the class quest Seeking the Kor Gem[25]). Skipping it now? You'll get the flight path at 28.
Don't forget in this section
Be sure to get the Zoram'gar flight path: you'll need it for Blackfathom Deeps.
If you level as “Retribution: Two-Hander”: at 20–22 you take Sanctified Judgement - every Judgement returns 60% of the seal's cost. With it your mana barely runs out: keep Blessing of Might on yourself, not Blessing of Wisdom. The other builds don't have this talent - stick with Wisdom.
⚔︎ PvP
From 18 you have Blessing of Freedom: if a mage freezes you or a hunter slows you, remove it and chase. Against fear - Will of the Forsaken, but in Forever it doesn't protect you afterwards: press it once the fear has landed, not in advance.
⌂Turn in 7 quests, pick up 4 new ones and visit your trainer
Chol'aruk the Ravener[21] still in your log? You're at the Crossroads: Chol'aruk is a couple of minutes to the northeast, and the quest is turned in where you got it. Then fly to Ratchet.
Not 22 yet? You'll learn them in Undercity (step) or at Bandarion Keep (step). Take Seal of the Crusader (rank 3) only if you open on elites with Seal of the Crusader.

Ambermill: remember where Archmage Ataeric stands - you'll come back to him after the Ruins (The Weaver[22]).

A group of five, six bosses in any order. The quests are level 21–22, and according to beta data dungeon quests in Forever give 2–3 times the experience of normal ones - one of the most rewarding stops in 20–30. This is also where you get the best two-hander on the route - Forsaken Greataxe.
There are a lot of undead inside: Exorcism on cooldown, and Turn Undead takes an extra undead out of a pack: it runs away for 10 seconds, but damage can break the effect, so don't hit it.
⚔︎ PvP
The Alliance has quests in the Ruins of Lordaeron too - their groups run across all of Tirisfal to the gates of Undercity. This is your land with guards nearby: on PvP realms it's their flag that's up, not yours.

The last Silverpine quests, a dungeon and the ingot for your blade
0 of 5
By our estimate, the three Shadowfang Keep quests give about 20 thousand experience in Forever - more than half a level. If you took A Moon-Kissed Blade[25], this is also where you pick up Enchanted Silver Ingot. No group? Skip the keep, do Ambermill and come back here after Hillsbrad (step).
According to Wowhead comments, you can also pick up the ingot in a friend's already cleared instance. There are a lot of curses here, and a paladin can't remove them: if you're healing, keep the tank topped up ahead of time and turn on your aura: Concentration Aura. Worgen attack in crowds: as a tank - Consecration.
Tarren Mill is the Horde base in Hillsbrad: Durnholde, the fields and a new Forever quest. Don't go into Southshore (Alliance) - there are guards. Ott in the Mill is the very blacksmith who will forge your blade (at 30).
Don't forget in this section
Elixir of Pain[24]: take Gloves of Brawn - mail gloves with +6 Strength. The recipe among the rewards is only useful with Cooking 125.
Ott - weaponsmith: according to the game files he has Merciless Axe≈ 32 (level 26, 21.1 DPS, +12 Strength). What he actually sells on the beta hasn't been checked. If you already have Forsaken Greataxe, the difference is small - the trainer needs your money more. Skipped the Ruins? This is your two-hander until 30, if he has it for sale.
◈ Loot along the way
Wool Cloth from the Hillsbrad humans - for Wool Bandages or the auction house.
➶ Level faster
If you level as “Retribution: Two-Hander”: at 24–25 you get Pursuit of Justice - +15% run speed, and Forsaken Greataxe adds another 2% here. In “Holy + Retribution” this talent only comes at 28–29, and the Protection and Holy builds don't have it - run less and use your hearthstone set in Tarren Mill.
The Syndicate and the Hillsbrad humans are humanoids: Cannibalize on cooldown instead of water. They run away at low health - Hammer of Justice, or they'll bring their neighbors.
⚔︎ PvP
Tarren Mill versus Southshore is the classic faction war. In Forever the Alliance quests here from 21 to 30 and goes to the town hall in Hillsbrad Fields - the same place where you kill the farmers. A rogue jumps you from stealth? Divine Protection, and under it a full-strength Holy Light; poisoned - Purify.
On the beta a chase often breaks off at a zone border: the player jumps into another layer of the world and vanishes. Running away - run for the border; chasing - don't follow across it.
Drops from:Vial of Innocent Blood - Syndicate Shadow Mage
The Syndicate stands close together - pull them one at a time from the edge. Shadow mages cast from range: Hammer of Justice interrupts the spell.
How to do this quest - The Rescue
The keys aren't interchangeable, the pairs are “jailor → prisoner”: Jailor Eston → Drull, Jailor Marlgen → Tog'thar. The jailors spawn near the prisoners, sometimes on the road to them.
The key says “Failed!” - that's normal, click again.
Tanking with a sword? Take Weathered Deathstalker's Blade (+4 Strength); otherwise take whatever sells for more. The Deathstalker's exact spot is still being confirmed on the beta - follow the quest marker.
How to do this quest - Scout Support
According to a tester's comment, the quest only opens after the second “Battle of Hillsbrad” (level 25): if High Executor Darthalia doesn't offer it, turn that one in and ask again. Deathstalker Masoj himself stands alone on a hill north of Nethander Stead .
The peaks, according to testers' comments: on the hills above Dun Garok , on the plateau above Durnholde , and above the yeti cave , not inside it. Level 33 mountain lions roam by the third one - approach carefully.
Leave the rest of the Battle of Hillsbrad (Battle of Hillsbrad[26] and on) for 30+.

Splintertree Post, Thistlefur, Zoram'gar and the Kor Gem
0 of 13
Splintertree Post is a big Horde quest hub. The eastern loop first, then Zoram'gar and, if you have a group, Blackfathom Deeps. In Zoram'gar the class quest Seeking the Kor Gem[25] is waiting for you: a gem for your future blade.

Ulric Frostveil in Zoram'gar: do Seeking the Kor Gem[25] even if you're not going for the blade - it's 2000 experience, and by our estimate a level 28 paladin can handle the naga at the Blackfathom entrance solo.
Leave Sharptalon (level 31) from the Ashenvale Hunt alone for now - that's for 31+.
You'll turn in Ordanus[29] at Sun Rock Retreat on your next visit (at 30+): The Den[29] still lies ahead.

Clear the way to the village exit before the escort - you'll be attacked on the way. Kill the shamans first: Hammer of Justice interrupts their healing.
How to do this quest - Troll Charm
In the cave the mobs stand in twos and threes and respawn quickly - watch your back. The charm chests respawn quickly too: you can circle one hall.
Furbolgs come in twos and threes: drop Consecration at your feet and turn on your aura: Retribution Aura - it hits everyone who hits you. Start with full mana.
How to do this quest - King of the Foulweald
First kill the furbolgs around the mound. Then stand on the mound and use the banner from your bags.
After the banner, two always come, and Chief Murgut appears on a timer, not after they die. Don't waste cooldowns on the first two.
The naga here are elite, level 20–22 according to Questie: take them one at a time, and Hammer of Justice interrupts their spells. Going into Blackfathom with a group? The Sea Witches inside drop the gem too.
Healing? Twilight Lord Kelris puts people to sleep, and a paladin can't remove sleep (Will of the Forsaken only works on yourself): keep the tank topped up in advance. Tanking? The naga casters attack from range: Hammer of Justice on their cast. You'll swim a lot, and undead can breathe underwater four times longer than other races.

Level 30 - battlegrounds. On the beta the new battleground Darkspear Islands, 15 vs 15, opens at 30. Queue with Rugbul Boomfirst in Undercity or Gruga Bloodblade in Orgrimmar, and there's also a portal in the Darkspear Raiders camp north of Ratchet. Don't fall into the water - testers complain about sharks.
Battlegrounds most likely give no experience (they didn't in Classic) - this is for honor and fun, not for leveling. On a battleground a paladin is valued less for damage than for support: Blessing of Freedom removes a slow from an ally, Purify removes poisons, and Blessing of Protection saves a cloth-wearer from a warrior.
What's next (30+): the class blade - see the “Wolfsbane” section below; then the rest of Thousand Needles, the Shimmering Flats, Hillsbrad and Arathi, “Excavation Site: Wetlands” and the Scarlet Monastery. That will be the next part of the guide.

Wolfsbane: the Deadmines and Old Fire-Eye (optional)
The Forsaken paladin's class two-hander · with a group · through Alliance lands
0 of 9
The class line ends with Wolfsbane, a two-handed sword for paladins only. It has 25.6 DPS, +9 Stamina and +10 Intellect, and its proc deals 39–59 damage - three times as much against wolves and worgen. You need A Moon-Kissed Blade[25] in your log and three materials: Enchanted Silver Ingot from Shadowfang Keep (step), Purified Kor Gem from Seeking the Kor Gem[25] (step) and Whitestone Oak Lumber from the Deadmines. The Deadmines are in Westfall, in Alliance lands: it's a long trip, so put a group together in advance.

Not sure? Talk to the zeppelin master: he'll tell you where his zeppelin goes.
Equip the blade right away: according to Wowhead comments, the fight only counts if Moonsilver Blade is in your hands. You've only just learned Two-Handed Swords, and as in Classic the skill starts at 1: the blade misses a lot and procs less often. Before the fight, raise the skill to at least 100 out of 150 - with the blade equipped, on mobs level 22 or higher: gray mobs don't raise it. At level 30 almost everything in Silverpine is gray, so it's easier to fly to Tarren Mill and fight the Syndicate at Durnholde Keep (step).
Quests offered far from the entrance, and the paladin in a group
In Forever, experience from dungeon mobs is lower, while dungeon quests give 2–3 times the experience of normal ones (even after the beta bonus was cut in half). Going in without quests makes little sense - collect them in advance from this list, but not earlier than needed: quests “for later” clog your log.
Paladin in a group
Up to 30 a paladin can fill any role, and you've had Redemption since 12 - you're the one who brings back the fallen. Skipped “A Lesson in Divinity”? Do it first (step), then the dungeons.
Tank:Salvaged Wooden Tower Shield (the reward for Making Repairs[11]) and Seal of Fury (from 10): with a shield the seal gives an absorb, and its Judgement taunts the mob for 4 seconds - that's the paladin's “taunt”. From 16 - Righteous Fury, from 20 - Consecration on groups of mobs. Threat is weak before 20: have the group start hitting after your second strike.
Purify removes poison and disease: in Wailing Caverns and Ragefire Chasm that's your job. Before 30 a paladin can't remove sleep, fear or curses.
Blessing of Protection goes on the mage or priest a mob is running at: for 6 seconds physical damage can't touch them. Hammer of Justice goes on a caster casting something dangerous: a paladin has no other interrupt.
Unending Torment[21] and Crest of Lordaeron[22] start inside. The entrance is in the ruins of the capital, immediately to the left as you enter Lordaeron. There are lots of undead inside: Exorcism on cooldown, and from 24 Turn Undead as well.
A paladin needs to come here for the class chain too: according to Wowhead comments, Enchanted Silver Ingot for A Moon-Kissed Blade[25] lies on a table in the last hall, where Archmage Arugal is. By our estimate, the keep's three quests give about 20 thousand experience. There are lots of curses here - a paladin can't remove them.
Blueleaf Tubers[26] - Mebok Mizzyrix, RatchetOptional: take it in Ratchet when you turn in the eggs - at 22; the route doesn't return to Ratchet after that, so you'll turn it in after 30
What to learn, how to fight and how not to sit around with no mana - up to level 30
What changed in Forever:Judgement no longer consumes the seal; Holy Strike (from 6) and Seal of Fury (from 10) are new; Consecration and Blessing of Kings are now learned from the trainer at 20. Blessings last an hour, and Lay on Hands is every 20 minutes. Consecration only hits the first 4 targets at full strength. Undead paladins have their own path: Holy Light comes from a quest at level 2, Redemption from a chain at 12.
How to kill a mob. Put Seal of Righteousness on yourself - it lasts 30 seconds, and Judgement doesn't consume it. As you run in, use Judgement and Holy Strike, then keep hitting and press them on cooldown (10 seconds). For a long fight (an elite, a mob 2+ levels above you): Seal of the Crusader, then Judgement (the debuff stays on the target for 40 seconds), then switch back to Seal of Righteousness. On normal mobs that's just wasted mana. From 20: Consecration when 3–4 mobs are on you, and Exorcism on cooldown against undead and demons - the route is full of them.
Prices are from the trainer list on Wowhead Forever (beta). Everything from 1 to 30 costs about 21 gold, just the essentials about 12. Undead paladin trainers: Aramis Hammerhand in Deathknell (up to level 6), Shari Stilwell in Brill, Hilda the Breaker at Bandarion Keep, Garen Largo in Undercity and Alodan the Hopeful in Thunder Bluff. There's no trainer in Orgrimmar, Silverpine or the Barrens. And start saving: at 40, riding training costs 100 gold.
Blessings and auras
They last an hour - cast them in town and forget about them
4–13: Blessing of Might. From 14 - Blessing of Wisdom, as long as you're drinking after every 2–3 mobs. In Forever, Blessing of Might is weaker than in Classic (+14 attack power at rank 1 instead of +20), and Blessing of Wisdom is stronger (12 mana per 5 seconds instead of 10).
Don't turn on Righteous Fury solo: it costs mana and only raises threat.
Mana: how to sit less
A paladin's main worry before 20
The five-second rule: after you spend mana, Spirit only starts restoring it 5 seconds later. So heal after the fight with one big spell - Holy Light - instead of small heals in the middle of it.
Heal to 75–80%, not to full, and move on. But don't start a fight with no mana - without it you can't heal, even with Divine Protection up.
Cannibalize on a humanoid or undead corpse: up to 35% health and mana in 10 seconds, once every 2 minutes. The route is full of such corpses: the Scarlet Crusade, murlocs, gnolls, centaurs, harpies.
Divine Protection (6 seconds, 8 from level 18): physical damage and spells can't touch you, but you can still heal yourself. Divine Protection, then Holy Light to full, and keep fighting.
Lay on Hands (from 10): full health for all your mana, 20-minute cooldown (it used to be an hour). Press it when a fight goes wrong - it's best when you're low on mana anyway.
“Bubble-hearth” doesn't work before level 34: Divine Protection lasts 6–8 seconds, and the hearthstone takes 10 to cast. The real “bubble” is Divine Shield at 34.
Will of the Forsaken removes fear, but gives no protection from the next one - press it once the fear has already landed. A paladin has no fear removal of their own.
Weapons and skills
A two-hander adds more damage than any other slot
You start with maces (as in Classic; check your skills window in Forever). Two-Handed Axes - Hanashi in Orgrimmar (at 15). Two-Handed Swords - Archibald in Undercity: you'll need them for the class blade at 30 (step).
The classic Alliance paladin quests aren't available to the Horde - the Forsaken have their own line.
Undead racial abilities
Four Forever abilities - what they give a paladin
Cannibalize now restores mana too: a free “eat and drink” every 2 minutes. It doesn't work while Divine Protection is on you.
Will of the Forsaken is your main answer to fear: a paladin has no fear removal of their own. In Forever it no longer gives 5 seconds of immunity afterward.
Touch of the Grave is new: your attacks and spells sometimes drain health. Whether seal hits can trigger it hasn't been tested yet.
Underwater Breathing - you can breathe underwater four times longer. Shadow Resistance isn't on the Forever racial list.
First Aid and professions
Bandages heal without mana and don't trigger the five-second rule - for a paladin that's a second source of healing. Nurse Neela in Brill teaches it, then Mary Edras in Undercity.
Tip: Mining + Skinning for trainer money, plus Cooking. Details in the Professions section.
Talents 10–30

All builds, the tree and the point order are in the “Leveling talents” section.

Professions and camping
What to take, where to learn it and what to collect - up to level 30
Advice for a paladin: Mining + Skinning, plus Cooking and First Aid. Gathering means money, and the paladin trainer charges about 21 gold up to level 30. Want to make your own two-handers? Take Blacksmithing instead of Skinning: Bronze Warhammer and Bronze Battle Axe by level 20–22, and the blacksmith's camping bonus (+Strength) stacks with blessings.
Apprentice - up to 75. Journeyman - from skill 50, 5, up to 150. Expert - from skill 125, 50, up to 225.
How to get it for freebeta data
For Marla's Last Wish[5] (level 5) - a gathering profession book of your choice: the profession right away and +2 skill.
Junior trainers in Deathknell: Margaret Weaver (Skinning), Walter Mason (Mining), Florence Nightshade (Herbalism) - 10 each. You learn one profession from them, and the book gives you the other.
These do stack: the Skinning chair (+2% crit) and the blacksmith's buff (+Strength). For a paladin that's the best camping pair.
Cooking and First Aid
In Forever cooked food also gives +5% experience from kills - always eat.
A paladin does need First Aid: bandages don't cost mana. Heavy Linen Bandages - Mary Edras in Undercity at 14, Wool Bandages - Pand Stonebinder in Thunder Bluff at 20.
Copper, tin and hides go to the auction house or into your own Blacksmithing. Meat goes into Cooking, and gray items to a vendor at every stop.
New in Forever: a Durotar Supply and Logistics camp near the Crossroads. Fill the crates you find in the world with materials and turn them in for a currency.
Money
The paladin trainer costs about 21 gold up to 30, almost 4 of it at level 20. Don't learn everything: what can wait is in the “Paladin” section.
Beta data (build 1.60.1, as of October 13, 2026, beta level cap 30): the Wowhead Forever database, Blizzard developer notes, class overviews, the Questie database and the RestedXP route for Forever. Things may change before the November 4 launch.
What stayed the samebeta data
According to beta data, the old quests in the 1–30 zones are all still there, and neither their experience nor the experience per level has changed (exceptions are in the cards below).
Ragefire Chasm, Wailing Caverns, Shadowfang Keep, Blackfathom Deeps, Razorfen Kraul - the same levels and bosses. Mobs there give less experience, quests give more.
No new flight paths, zeppelins or ships for the Horde in 1–30. The hearthstone is once an hour.
Mounts still come at level 40. Now you pay for riding training - 100 gold - and the first mount itself is free, according to the developers.
A new combination: in the Horde, only undead can be paladins. They have their own order - Tyr's Watch at Bandarion Keep - and 30 class quests up to level 26.
Judgement doesn't consume the seal and has a 10-second cooldown. Seal of the Crusader: its Judgement stays on the target for 40 seconds instead of 10.
New spells: Holy Strike at 6 (10-second cooldown) and Seal of Fury at 10 - with a shield it gives an absorb, and its Judgement taunts for 4 seconds. Consecration and Blessing of Kings are learned from the trainer at 20, not through talents.
Blessings last an hour. Lay on Hands is every 20 minutes instead of every hour. Consecration only hits the first 4 targets at full strength.
Base healing and Holy damage are lower than in Classic, but gear has more spell power, and it boosts seals and Judgement.
Quests for the new dungeons: the Ruins of Lordaeron and “Excavation Site: Wetlands”.
New dungeonsofficial
Ruins of Lordaeron - above Undercity, 6 bosses in any order, lots of undead.
Excavation Site: Wetlands - 26–31, outdoors in the southern Wetlands. For the Horde it starts in Hammerfall.
City of Dalaran - the dungeon isn't open on the beta yet, and the Horde attunement only opens at level 30.
Undead: racial abilitiesofficial
Will of the Forsaken removes fear, sleep and charm, but without the 5 seconds of immunity: press it once the fear has already landed.
Cannibalize also restores mana - up to 35% in 10 seconds. New: Touch of the Grave - your spells and attacks sometimes drain health.
Shadow Resistance isn't on the Forever racial list.
PvP and rulesetsofficial
Rulesets to choose from: “Normal” - PvP only if you want it (/pvp); “PvP” - your flag turns on by itself in contested and enemy zones, and one faction per account; “RP” - same as Normal. Hardcore comes after launch.
Horde lands on the route: Tirisfal, Silverpine, the Barrens. Contested: Stonetalon, Hillsbrad, Ashenvale, Thousand Needles.
Battlegrounds: Warsong Gulch from 10, Arathi Basin from 20, the new Darkspear Islands (15 vs 15) from 30, Alterac Valley from 51. Brackets of 10 levels. On the beta, according to testers, only the level 30 battleground is open.
Healing or blessing a PvP-flagged player flags you too - on “Normal” realms as well.
Experience and conveniencesofficial
Cooked food gives +5% experience from kills. Camping buffs, the tent and the sleeping bag.
Dungeon quests give 2–3 times the experience of normal ones.
There's no automatic dungeon finder - only the bulletin board, and meeting stones don't summon.
The Legacy system: account-wide bonuses unlock once your first character reaches 25.
Books from all over the world can be handed in to the librarian in the Magic Quarter of Undercity - experience and rewards.
Playing with friends who share a language? Pick your preferred language in the settings: you'll land in the same world layer as its speakers more often.
