A step-by-step route for WoW Forever: a Tauren warrior from Camp Narache to level 30. Where to go at every level, which quests to grab right away so you never run back, when to do the class quests (Defensive Stance at Far Watch Post at 12–13, the Ruga's Bulwark shield at 20, Berserker Stance at 30), where to get two-handed weapons (a warrior's damage depends almost entirely on the weapon: tauren know maces from the start, and two-handed axes are worth learning at 22), which professions to pick and how to spend less time standing around with no rage.

What to install from CurseForge for Forever: the useful and the fun
Maps inside dungeons:Dungeon Crawler Forever shows floors, passages, bosses and quests. Open it with /dm. Its data changes with the beta: double-check quest requirements in game. More conveniences, screenshots and highlight commands - in the useful addons guide.
How to install. In the CurseForge app, add the game with the “+” button and point it to your Forever client folder - a Forever tab appears. Manually on the beta: the _classic_beta_\Interface\AddOns folder. Addons for regular Classic won't work - you need a file marked Forever (1.60.1). ★ - our pick.
Already in the game - no addon needed: coordinates on the map and minimap (turn them on in the settings), quest objectives on the map (the “Enhanced” template at first login, or the quest objectives option), a damage meter, a swing timer, the Cooldown Manager, one combined bag, an equipment manager and a modern auction house. Not in the game: a threat meter, markers for quests you haven't picked up yet, and a /way command.
Quests and map
★ Questie - who gives quests and where the objectives are, on the map and minimap. It still lacks some of the new Forever quests.
★ TomTom - an arrow to a point. The coordinates on this site copy as a /way command for it.
★ Leatrix Maps - reveals unexplored parts of the map, shows dungeon entrances, and the map can be enlarged.
Forever Quest Tint - tints the text of new Forever quests, so you see at a glance what's new.
Conveniences
★ Leatrix Plus - auto quest turn-in, junk selling, repairs, fast loot and dozens of small things. There's a separate version for Forever.
★ Baganator - proper bags and bank: the built-in combined bag can't be moved. A similar one - Bagnon.
★ Auctionator - posts auctions quickly, remembers prices and shows them in tooltips.
★ Platynator - draws neat bars above mobs and marks the ones you need for a quest. Very handy while leveling.
Professions
★ GatherLite - herbs, ore and fish on the map: it already ships with more than 26 thousand points made for Forever.
GatherMate2 - the same, but it only remembers points as you gather them yourself.
For fun: voiceover and dialogue
★ Spoken - English voiceover for quests, books and zones. On the Forever forums it gets the most praise: “like an audiobook”. More in the addons guide.
★ Immersion - movie-style NPC dialogue instead of the usual quest window.
Optional
Details! or ThreatClassic2 - threat in dungeons: the built-in damage meter doesn't show it.
Easy Experience Bar - experience per hour and how much is left to the next level.
Dungeon Journal - dungeon quests and loot: Forever has no dungeon journal of its own.
WeakAuras has no Forever version; use the fork ForeverAuras instead (it can do what the built-in Cooldown Manager sees).
For mail, instead of Postal try Forever Mail: recipient picker, mail history and attachment lists. More in the general addons guide.
Zygor and ElvUI aren't installed through CurseForge.
Combat “helpers” that do calculations are banned in Forever, as in the modern game: addons may display, but not calculate.
For warriors
OverpowerAlert - a sound and on-screen text when Overpower lights up after your target dodges; it also warns you when Revenge is ready. Settings - /opa. Made for Forever (file from October 12), about 1.2 thousand downloads.
WeaponSwingTimer - Queuing - a swing bar that changes color while Heroic Strike or Cleave is queued. It also shows when to press Slam so you don't clip your swing. Forever's built-in attack timer doesn't show the queue. There's a Forever file.
Tanking dungeons? Install a threat meter from the “Optional” card: the built-in damage meter doesn't show threat.

Leveling talents
Builds for 10–30: which one to pick and in what order to spend points
Your first talent point comes at level 10, then one per level: 21 points by level 30. Not sure what to pick? Go “Arms: Two-Hander”. Beta guides disagree: Icy Veins and Method recommend Arms with a two-hander, Mobalytics recommends Protection with a shield (less downtime solo). Testers praise Fury and Protection more often and complain that Arms runs short on rage. You can reset your talents at a warrior trainer - Torm Ragetotem in Thunder Bluff or Krang Stonehoof in Bloodhoof Village; according to beta data it costs 1 if you haven't reset in a while. Hover a talent for its Wowhead tooltip; the button at the bottom opens the build in the Wowhead calculator with the same order.
Arms: Two-Handermain21 / 0 / 0The classic warrior leveling build: bleeds, rage at the start of every fight and Anger Management by 22. Icy Veins and Method recommend it; further down this tree is Mortal Strike at 40. A tauren has a two-handed mace from level 1.
At 30:Sweeping Strikes - two mobs at once (requires level 30). Weaponmaster with a mace lets you ignore armor, but it only pays off after 30: you can fit just one point in before then.
Cons: more downtime solo than Protection: on the beta people complain that Arms runs short on rage. Use Bloodrage on cooldown, and don't spend rage finishing mobs off.
Icy Veins variant: at 15–16 take Improved Overpower 2/2 instead of Improved Charge; at 25 - Spearing Strike. Testers call it a “trap”: it's only strong against giants, dragons and mounted enemies.
Protection: Shield and Revengewith a shield0 / 0 / 21The least downtime solo, and you're a dungeon tank right away. Mobalytics' main pick; Method recommends it for solo play. You need a one-handed weapon and a shield: tauren know one-handed maces and axes from the start.
Cons: until 14–16, before you learn Revenge and Shield Block, Protection kills more slowly than a two-hander. Mobalytics suggests leveling as Arms until 15 and resetting your talents at 16 - here there's one order with no reset.
Cruelty, then Armsfast start16 / 5 / 05 points in Fury for crit, then Arms; its last talent here is Deep Wounds. Method's variant: in Forever crits feed you rage again.
Fury: Death WishFury0 / 21 / 0Steady rage and damage with a two-hander. Based on Icy Veins and Warcraft Tavern; beta testers praise Fury more often than Arms.
Pros:Cruelty - crit; Unbridled Wrath - a 60% chance for +1 rage per hit; Lingering Rage - rage starts decaying 8 seconds later, so you make it to the next mob. Piercing Howl at 20 slows everyone around you - good against runners and in PvP. Enrage - solo, you're always the one getting hit, so it's +10% damage. At 30 - Death Wish: +20% damage for 30 seconds.

All the quests are right by the camp: grab everything, do them in a loop, turn them in as a batch. About 40 minutes. You start with Battleworn Hammer, a two-handed mace with 1.4 DPS. That's very low: your first replacement comes right here, in half an hour.

A Humble Task[2]: as the reward, pick a gathering profession book - you get the profession for free (you can read it from level 3). For a warrior we recommend Mining (the “Professions” section explains why). Learn the second profession from the junior trainers right here (step) for 10.
Grace of An'she and Mu'sha[4] is timed, 10 minutes: take it when you're ready to run straight to the fire. The reward is a 6-slot bag.
Cougar and boar pelts - for Skinning or a vendor. Don't sell the Strider Meat: you'll learn Cooking in the village, and in Forever food gives +5% experience.
➶ Level faster
Rage builds from hits - the ones you land and the ones you take - and drains away out of combat. Don't stand around between mobs: finish one off and run straight to the next. From level 4 you open every fight with Charge, so you arrive with rage already.
For a warrior we recommend Mining, plus Skinning or Blacksmithing as the second one (the “Professions” section explains why). The book gives you one profession, learn the second one here. Wunna Darkmane in Bloodhoof Village sells the Skinning Knife and the Mining Pick.
Thunder Clap hits everything around you, and in Forever it also slows their attacks by 20% - your answer when two mobs are on you.

Wolf paws and hearts, plainstrider talons and scales, swoop gizzards - don't sell any of it until you've turned in the village quests: three quests ask for them at once.

Krang Stonehoof is your warrior trainer: accept the new !Sparring Match[6]. Defeat three Novice Warriors in the training ring nearby or win 3 duels against players - Sparring Match[6]. Turn in ?Sparring Match[6]: the reward is a potion and bandages.

Palemane Rock, the Thunderhorn well, Red Rocks, your first visit to Thunder Bluff

Two loops: west to the gnolls, then north - the well, the dwarven dig site and Red Rocks. In between, a quick stop in Thunder Bluff to get the flight path and pick up a new quest.
At 9–10 you can still die for free - this is the last level when a death run to your turn-ins costs nothing. From 11 you get “Resurrection Sickness”.
Plainsrunning: as long as you keep running without stopping and without taking damage, your speed goes up 1% every 5 seconds, up to +30%. Leave the mobs on the road alone between loops - you'll get there noticeably faster.
You don't have to drink the Water of the Seers from the quest and follow the vision - you can come straight here. Throw the empty flask away afterwards.
Veteran Uzzek[10] is turned in at Far Watch Post in the Barrens: the route gets there at 12–13, and that's also where you get Defensive Stance (step). The trainer doesn't teach the stance - only the quest gives it. Talents open at 10 - see the “Leveling talents” section for what to take.

Southern Barrens: Ruga's Bulwark and Chol'aruk
Camp Taurajo, the Field of Giants, the shield class quest and the elite Chol'aruk
0 of 11
You're at Camp Taurajo and Speak with Ruga[20] is turned in. Clear the southern Barrens until 22: the Taurajo and Crossroads quests, the Field of Giants with the shield class quest and, if you have a partner, the elite Chol'aruk. Your hearthstone stays at the Crossroads.
Don't forget in this section
Take Trial at the Field of Giants[20] right before the Field of Giants (step): the antennae last 15 minutes (Wowhead data), and according to the Wowhead Forever page the quest itself also has a 30-minute timer.
Chol'aruk the Ravener[21] - Chol'aruk (level 20 elite) with elite guards; Wrongly Blamed, Justly Corrected[23] - an elite level 23 pillager. With two people you'll finish both quickly, but solo a warrior at 20–21 has almost no chance: no partner - don't take either one.
Tusks, heads and adornments only drop while you have the quests - take everything at Taurajo and the Crossroads before you go hunting.
¤ Shopping and useful stuff
Chol'aruk the Ravener[21]: for a two-hander - Big Bad Basher, a two-handed mace with 16 DPS, +4 Strength and +6 Stamina. Tauren know maces from the start - equip it right away. For Protection - Thornwoven Shield: 478 armor and +4 Stamina.
No partner? Maul≈ 110 (from 21): also 16 DPS, just without the bonuses. According to the game files, it's sold in Thunder Bluff, Orgrimmar and Undercity; the goblin in Stonetalon doesn't sell anything on the beta.
◈ Loot along the way
Don't sell the Blood Shard from Bristlebacks: Mangletooth gives a Strength buff for them (step). Cloth from the Bristlebacks and Razormane goes into Wool Bandages.
➶ Level faster
Taurajo and the Crossroads are linked by a flight path - fly between turn-ins. On foot along the road, leave the mobs alone: Plainsrunning speeds you up to +30%, and any fight resets the bonus.
The Barrens rares Humar the Pridelord (level 23 elite) and Takk the Leaper drop set pieces: according to Wowhead, two items give +5% run speed in the Barrens and Stonetalon. If you see one, don't walk past.
⚔︎ PvP
The Alliance needs Chol'aruk too - they have their own version of the quest. Someone hanging around his camp isn't necessarily a partner. On PvP realms in the Barrens it's the Alliance players who are flagged, not you.
From 20 you have Retaliation: if an Alliance rogue opens on you from stealth, turn to face him and press it - it doesn't counter hits from behind. Arathi Basin opens at 20 only at launch: on the beta, according to testers, only the new battleground from 30 works.
Letter to Jin'Zil[20] is a letter to Stonetalon; you'll deliver it on the next loop (step).

Northeast of the Crossroads: Ishamuhale doesn't roam - while you have the quest, any zhevra drops a fresh carcass: use it at the withered tree and he comes running. The fang - Ishamuhale[19]. Took Chol'aruk the Ravener[21]? Chol'aruk with elite guards: his head, Chol'aruk the Ravener[21].
Drops from:Chol'aruk's Head - Chol'aruk
Chol'aruk is a level 20 elite, and his guards are elite too: only with two people. Didn't work out? Abandon Chol'aruk the Ravener[21]: the quest doesn't unlock anything, and you won't get much stronger by the end of this section.
How to do this quest - Chol'aruk the Ravener
The lair is a cave, entrance . Inside are level 18–20 elites, but they're spread out: go around them along the edge and you'll reach him with almost no fights. He has about 5.5k health.
The quest marker points to the Wetlands - that's a beta bug, he's in the Barrens.
Silithid Swarmers call a bunch of small adds - kill them first, and use Thunder Clap on the crowd. According to a beta report the soldiers respawn slowly - if you meet another player on this quest, invite them. Pillager too much for you? Abandon Wrongly Blamed, Justly Corrected[23]: at 29 you can handle him solo (step). Stepping Stones[24] leads to Stonetalon - you'll turn it in there.

On the way south - thunder lizards : 3 Thunder Lizard Blood, Enraged Thunder Lizards[18]. The Field of Giants : Silithid Creepers, Grubs and Swarmers - 5 Twitching Antennae, Trial at the Field of Giants[20]. Got the fifth one? Head straight back to Taurajo.
The antennae disappear 15 minutes after you loot them - don't get distracted by other objectives. Silithids walk in twos and threes: Thunder Clap and Cleave.
How to do this quest - Trial at the Field of Giants
The quest timer is 30 minutes, and each antenna lasts only 15, so collect all five in one go. The antennae drop from almost every silithid, even the larvae.
The easiest ones are the crawlers on the east side of the field . The swarmers call little critters, so it's better to go around them, and if you get caught, Thunder Clap the whole pack.
Only warriors can wear Ruga's Bulwark: 411 armor and +3 Strength. Leveling with a two-hander? Keep it in your bags with a one-handed weapon anyway: Shield Bash only works with a shield equipped, and from 28 so does Shield Wall.
Take it only if you'll get a group for Razorfen Kraul by 29–30: Vial of Phlogiston only drops there (step). The rest is on the way: Smoky Iron Ingot (15) - in Stonetalon (step), Powdered Azurite (10) - in Hillsbrad (step), Iron Bar (10) - Mining 125 or the auction house. No group? Two rare elites roam here - a Venture Co. overseer and a foreman. Go around them. If the goblin dies, the quest fails: abandon Gerenzo's Orders[22] and take it again when he's back. Doesn't work the second time either? Abandon it and later turn in only Super Reaper 6000[21]. Dungeons are done in a group of five: no group - don't take The Book of Ur[26], or the quest will just sit in your log. You'll take the Ruins of Lordaeron quests right before you go in (at 24). Without dungeons you'll fall about 2 levels behind (by an estimate from beta data, the dungeon quests at 22–29 are worth about 75 thousand experience): western Ashenvale, the southern Barrens and the backup quests in Thousand Needles (step) cover part of it, and you'll make up the rest with mobs along the way.

According to beta data, dungeon quests in Forever give 2–3 times more experience than regular ones - the keep's three quests are worth it. After that it all depends on a group for the Ruins of Lordaeron: if you have one, fly from the Sepulcher to Undercity (step); if not, go from the Sepulcher straight to Hillsbrad (step): you'll learn the level 24 abilities in Undercity at 26, and turn in The Book of Ur[26] there too if you did the keep (step).

A group of five, six bosses in any order. The quests are level 21–22, and dungeon quests in Forever give 2–3 times the experience of normal ones - one of the most rewarding stops in 20–30. For a warrior the main prize here is Forsaken Greataxe from the quest The Wrath of Rath'mael[22]: a two-handed axe with 20.5 DPS and +8 Strength. No group for the Ruins? Go from the Sepulcher straight to Hillsbrad (step): you'll turn in The Book of Ur[26] and learn the level 24 abilities in Undercity at 26 (step).
Execute from 24 isn't for every mob: it burns all your rage. While leveling, use it on a fleeing humanoid and on elites; two white hits will finish a normal mob at 20% health, and you keep the rage for the next one.
⚔︎ PvP
The Alliance has quests in the Ruins of Lordaeron too - their groups run across all of Tirisfal to the gates of Undercity. This is your land with guards nearby: on PvP realms it's their flag that's up, not yours.
Learned Two-Handed Axes? Take Forsaken Greataxe: the best two-hander on the route until 26. Didn't learn them? Sell either reward: Gnarled Necromancer's Staff (a staff, 15.2 DPS) is no stronger than Maul.

On the beta a chase often breaks off at a zone border: the player jumps into another layer of the world and vanishes. Running away - run for the border; chasing - don't follow across it.
According to beta data, the exact spot where Deathstalker Masoj stands is still being confirmed - follow the quest marker. South of the vantage point, in Dun Garok itself , there are level 28–30 dwarves, and the riflemen shoot from range: approach the vantage point from the north and don't go down.
How to do this quest - Scout Support
According to a tester's comment, the quest only opens after the second “Battle of Hillsbrad” (level 25): if High Executor Darthalia doesn't offer it, turn that one in and ask again. Deathstalker Masoj himself stands alone on a hill north of Nethander Stead .
The peaks, according to testers' comments: on the hills above Dun Garok , on the plateau above Durnholde , and above the yeti cave , not inside it. Level 33 mountain lions roam by the third one - approach carefully.

The Syndicate stand close together - pull them one at a time from the edge. Shadow mages cast from range: pull them around a corner so they come right up to you, or interrupt the spell with Shield Bash. Three of them rushed you? War Stomp and Intimidating Shout.

Against priests and warlocks: Berserker Rage removes fear and stops a new one for 10 seconds - press it as soon as you see the cast. It only works in Berserker Stance. Too late? War Stomp interrupts the spell for everyone nearby.
⌂Turn in 2 quests, pick up 2 new ones and visit your trainer
Slam is the second rank of Slam - Wowhead just calls it something else. You can't buy Intercept from the trainer: according to beta data, rank 1 comes from The Affray[30] together with the stance, as in Classic. Fighting with a mace? Right here, Ohanko : War Hammer (according to the game files). A Vengeful Fate[34]: for Protection - Marbled Buckler: 776 armor and +5 Strength, Agility, Stamina and Spirit; for a two-hander - Stonefist Girdle: mail, +6 Strength and +5 Stamina.

Have Brutal Armor[30] in your log with everything collected? Tal: fly to the Crossroads, then walk east to the hill by the road to Ratchet: Thun'grim Firegaze - turn in ?Brutal Armor[30], accept !Brutal Hauberk[30] and turn it in right away (?Brutal Hauberk[30]), the reward is Brutal Hauberk. Then follow the road to Ratchet, about 5 minutes. If not - Tal: fly straight to Ratchet.
Didn't collect everything? Abandon Brutal Armor[30]: you can't finish it without Razorfen Kraul.
Step onto the grate in the middle of the island and Twiggy Flathead announces the fight: level 26–27 opponents come out one at a time, and the last one is Big Will, level 33 (The Affray[30]).
You have 10 minutes for the quest (Wowhead data). Start at full health and use Victory Rush between opponents. Big Will is 3 levels above you, and in Forever you miss a lot against mobs like that: use Retaliation, Rend and Overpower whenever you can, War Stomp for 2 seconds when he's hitting hardest, and a healing potion at half health.
How to do this quest - The Affray
You have 10 minutes in total. The opponents come out one at a time, about every 15–20 seconds: in between you have time for Victory Rush and a quick bandage.
If it gets rough, run north off the island, over the hillock to the water: according to a Classic player's comment, the opponent drops off at the water and the quest does not fail.
When Big Will shows up, step away from the bars: according to the comments, he does not attack on his own. Bandage up, then Charge and fight.
Wowhead Forever lists only the stance as the reward, but according to beta data Intercept comes with it. If it's not in your spellbook, it's most likely a beta bug: the trainer doesn't have rank 1. The follow-up, The Windwatcher[30], leads to the Whirlwind weapons - a level 40 chain in the Alterac Mountains, so don't take it yet.

What's next (30+): the rest of Thousand Needles, Ordanus[29] → The Den[29] in Stonetalon, the Shimmering Flats, Hillsbrad and Arathi, “Excavation Site: Wetlands” and the Scarlet Monastery; for a warrior also The Windwatcher[30] at 40. That will be the next part of the guide.

Dungeons: what to pick up in advance
Quests offered far from the entrance, and how a warrior tanks
In Forever, experience from dungeon mobs is lower, while dungeon quests give 2–3 times the experience of normal ones (even after the beta bonus was cut in half). Going in without quests makes little sense - collect them in advance, but not earlier than needed: quests “for later” clog your log. In a group a warrior is either the tank or damage, and the weapon rewards from dungeons beat anything vendors sell.
Warrior tanking: the short version
Defensive Stance, a shield and threat
Your tanking stance is Defensive Stance: +30% threat and -10% damage. A tauren gets it at 12–13, after the quest at Far Watch Post. A shield is a must: Shield Bash interrupts spells, and Shield Block (16) enables Revenge.
On a pack: Thunder Clap (up to 4 targets; Forever lowered its threat) and Demoralizing Shout (everything around you), then Sunder Armor on each target in turn. Mark the first kill with a skull.
The pull: Charge in Battle Stance, then straight into Defensive - Tactical Mastery (14) keeps 10 rage. With Vanguard (a Protection talent at 25), Charge works right in Defensive Stance. Pull casters around a corner - they'll come to you.
A mob ran off to the healer: Taunt (8-second cooldown in Forever), with Mocking Blow as a backup; if everything goes wrong - Challenging Shout (26). War Stomp stuns the whole pack around you for 2 seconds: enough time to gather it on yourself.
You can also tank low-level dungeons with a two-hander in Defensive Stance, but always keep a shield in your bags. In Forever Sunder Armor generates threat based on attack power.
No group? Don't take any of the quests from here. The only reward for a warrior is the mail bracers for returning the lost satchel: the tauren quests here don't give weapons.
Wailing Caverns
17–24 · the Barrens, the oasis west of the Crossroads
By our estimate, the three quests give about 20 thousand experience in Forever - more than half a level. The run itself - at 23–24. For tanks: Shadowfang has lots of worgen casters, so keep Shield Bash ready.
What to learn, what to hit with and how to keep your rage up - up to level 30
What changed in Forever: rage from a white hit now depends on weapon speed rather than damage, and a white crit gives +100% rage (since October 1). On October 8 rage from damage taken was fixed - Blizzard expects you to get more of it. New at the trainer: Tactical Mastery at 14, Victory Rush and Slam (rank 1) at 20, Berserker Rage at 30 instead of 32. Thunder Clap slows twice as much (20%), works in Defensive Stance and has a 6-second cooldown; Battle Shout gives 40% less attack power but lasts 3 minutes; Retaliation and Shield Wall have a 15-minute cooldown.
How to level. Keep Battle Shout up at all times. Pull with Charge, then Rend on a mob that will live 6+ seconds, white hits, and Heroic Strike only when you have rage to spare. Press Overpower every time it lights up. Finish a mob at 10–15% health with white hits: you carry the rage over to the next one. Fight mobs of your level and lower, one at a time: in Forever you miss a lot against higher-level mobs. Two mobs - Thunder Clap, and from 14 also Demoralizing Shout; both also hit enemies that aren't fighting you yet, so don't use them next to another group. If a mob stands in a group, pull it around a corner or with a gun shot: it will come over alone.
quest The Affray[30], together with the stance (beta data); the trainer doesn't have rank 1
Yes - only works in Berserker Stance
Warrior trainers along the Tauren route: Harutt Thunderhorn in Camp Narache (only up to level 6), Krang Stonehoof in Bloodhoof Village, on Hunter Rise in Thunder Bluff - Torm Ragetotem , Sark Ragetotem and Ker Ragetotem ; in Orgrimmar - Sorek in the Valley of Honor. There are no warrior trainers in the Barrens, Stonetalon, Ashenvale or Thousand Needles - so the route itself takes you to a trainer: Narache until 6, Bloodhoof at 8 and 10, Orgrimmar at 13, Thunder Bluff at 16 and 20, Orgrimmar at 22 (step), Undercity at 24 and 26 (step and step), Thunder Bluff at 28 and 30 (step and step). In Undercity the warrior trainers are in the War Quarter: Christoph Walker , Angela Curthas and Baltus Fowler . All training for 1–30 costs about 20 gold according to Wowhead; with a two-hander you can put off the shield skills.
Defensive Stance (quest Path of Defense[10], at 12–13 for a tauren): -10% damage taken and dealt, +30% threat. For dungeons and tough fights; in Forever Thunder Clap works in it.
Berserker Stance (30, quest The Affray[30] on Fray Island; according to beta data it also gives Intercept): +3% crit, but +10% damage taken.
Weapons and skills
Weapon DPS is what matters
A Tauren warrior knows One-Handed and Two-Handed Maces and One-Handed Axes from character creation (beta client data): you start with Battleworn Hammer. The rest is taught by weapon masters, 10 per skill in Classic (Forever prices haven't been checked): Guns and Staves - Ansekhwa in Thunder Bluff; Two-Handed Axes, Bows, Daggers, Fist Weapons and Thrown - Hanashi and Sayoc in Orgrimmar; Swords, Two-Handed Swords, Polearms (from 20) and Crossbows - Archibald in Undercity.
A new skill starts at 1: level it on lower-level mobs before you take the weapon into a serious fight.
22: Two-Handed Axes - Hanashi or Sayoc in Orgrimmar (step): from here on the best two-handers on the route are axes. Have Hammerbone? You can skip learning them.
26: Merciless Axe (21.1, +12 Strength) - Ott in Tarren Mill or Delgo Ragetotem in Thunder Bluff, according to the game files, about 3 gold. The best two-hander before 30 that you can buy.
With a slow two-hander (3.1–3.7 speed), Overpower and Cleave hit harder: they deal weapon damage plus a bonus. Rage per second barely depends on weapon speed: a slow weapon gives more per hit but hits less often.
What vendors sell comes from the game files: the stock on the beta may differ.
Rage
Less waiting around
Use Bloodrage on cooldown, ideally at the start of a fight. It costs 20% of your base health, so don't press it when your health is low. In Forever “puts you in combat” was removed from its tooltip - maybe Charge now works after it. Check in game.
Don't spend rage on a mob's last 10–15% health - white hits will finish it, and the rage goes to the next one.
Heroic Strike doesn't generate rage - it replaces your white hit. Use it only when you have rage to spare (usually 30+).
Sunder Armor - 1–2 times on a long fight, after that it doesn't pay off. In Forever it instantly tags the mob as yours, just like Rend.
A white crit gives +100% rage, so crit and Cruelty are worth more in Forever than in Classic. Since October 8, damage absorbed by a priest's shield no longer cuts the rage you get from incoming attacks: don't ask your healer to skip the shield for the sake of rage.
How not to die
No self-healing until 20
Bandages and food: First Aid is a must - Vira Younghoof in Bloodhoof Village, Pand Stonebinder in Thunder Bluff. A bandage is faster than food, and you can't use them together.
Endurance: +5% health and +2% critical strike damage - a tauren has a bigger health pool than other races.
War Stomp: up to 5 enemies nearby are stunned for 2 seconds, 1.5-minute cooldown. It interrupts a spell when you have no shield equipped, and two or three mobs on you stop hitting you for 2 seconds.
From 20 - Victory Rush: within 20 seconds of killing a mob that gives experience (doesn't work on gray mobs) - 10% health, 30-second cooldown. Often “Victory Rush + 10 seconds of bandaging” is enough instead of food.
Casters - Shield Bash (needs a shield equipped): keep a one-hander and a shield in your bags. From 28 - Shield Wall: needs a shield equipped and Defensive Stance.
Fear: a warrior has no answer to it before 30 - Berserker Rage only comes at 30. Kill casters that fear first.
Optional, 21–30: Speak with Thun'grim[20] → Brutal Armor[30] → Brutal Hauberk[30] - Brutal Hauberk, a mail chest (+5 Strength, +14 Stamina, 30 rage on use). You need a group for Razorfen Kraul, the Stonetalon kobolds, the Hillsbrad miners and 10 Iron Bars (step).
According to Questie, the Undead chain Speak with Dillinger[10] → Heirloom Weapon[11] is open to tauren too, but the route only reaches Tirisfal at 22: by then those quests are gray, and the rewards are four weapons of the same level as the ones from Forged Steel[10]. Skip it.
Talents 10–30
4 builds with a talent tree and the order by level
The main one is “Arms: Two-Hander”: Anger Management at 22, Sweeping Strikes at 30. There's also Protection with a shield, “Cruelty, then Arms” and Fury.
All builds, the tree and the point order are in the “Leveling talents” section.
⚒︎
Professions and camping
What to take, where to learn it and what to collect - up to level 30
Advice for a warrior: Mining + Blacksmithing, plus First Aid and Cooking. A blacksmith makes sharpening stones (Rough Sharpening Stone: +2 weapon damage for 30 minutes) - free damage for a warrior - and as a miner you smelt the 10 Iron Bars that the class quest Brutal Armor[30] asks for at 20–30 yourself. The other option is Mining + Skinning: more money for skills and riding.
Junior trainers in Camp Narache: Vartha Rockmane (Mining), Nawka Wildsong (Skinning), Garan Sunstrider (Herbalism) - 10 each. Learn one profession from them, and the book gives you the second.
Camp buffs last an hour: the Blacksmithing grindstone (+Strength), the Mining lodestone (+attack power), the Skinning camp stool (+2% crit), the First Aid kit (+Stamina). They don't stack with similar class buffs; the exact item names in the client may differ.
Sit by any campfire for a minute, even someone else's - you get a buff for an hour.
Cooking and First Aid
In Forever any cooked food gives +5% experience from kills for 15 minutes - always eat. Icy Veins recommends Strength food for warriors.
New in Forever: a Durotar Supply and Logistics camp near the Crossroads. Fill the crates you find in the world with materials and turn them in for a currency.
Money
Before 20 a warrior has three noticeable expenses: Wooden Mallet at 4–6 (about 7 silver), the mace near Ratchet at 13–14 (about 70 silver) and training at 16 and 20 (about 3.7 gold together).
20–30: training for 22–30 costs about 16 gold, Merciless Axe at 26 about 3. With a two-hander you can put off the shield and tanking skills. Do Chol'aruk the Ravener[21] with a partner - then you won't need a vendor weapon at 21.
Sell gray items at every stop; ore and cloth go to the Thunder Bluff auction house.
Don't buy a weapon from a vendor if a quest one is 1–2 levels away (the list is in the “Warrior” section).
Aim for about 10 gold saved by level 30: riding at 40 will most likely cost about 100 gold, as in Classic.

What's new in Forever
Only what matters for this route
Beta data (build 1.60.1, as of October 16, 2026, beta level cap 30): the Wowhead Forever database, beta client data, Blizzard patch notes, the Questie database and the RestedXP route for Forever. Things may change before the November 4 launch.
What stayed the samebeta data
The old Mulgore and Barrens quests are all still there, and neither their experience nor the experience per level has changed.
Tauren have no new warrior quests of their own. Wowhead marks The Warrior's Path[2] for tauren too, but it's given on Zephras Isle at the Skyborne start: you can't get there from Camp Narache.
No new flight paths for the Horde in 1–30, and no zeppelin from Thunder Bluff either: you get to the Eastern Kingdoms through Orgrimmar. The hearthstone is once an hour.
Mounts still come at level 40 (the first one is free, training costs 100 gold).
Mulgore and Thunder Bluffbeta data
The Mulgore map was rebuilt: the coordinates don't match the old guides. This site uses Forever coordinates.
Weapon skill is still there, and other races' racial weapon skill bonuses were replaced with crit.
Tauren: racial abilitiesbeta data
War Stomp - shorter cooldown since October 15: 1.5 minutes instead of 2; still a 2-second stun on up to 5 enemies nearby.
Endurance - +5% health and +2% critical strike damage and healing (since October 15; it used to be +1% hit).
Plainsrunning (new): while you run, your speed goes up 1% every 5 seconds, up to +30%; taking damage or stopping lowers the bonus. On a mount - another +3% speed.
Cultivation is now a button: grow a copy of an herb nearby and pick it without Herbalism, once per herb. Since October 15 the cooldown is 15 minutes (it used to be 60).
Nature Resistance isn't on the Forever racial list. The data comes from the Wowhead Forever tooltips as of October 16; Blizzard promised to revisit racials, so the numbers may change.
PvP and rulesetsofficial
Rulesets to choose from: “Normal” - PvP only if you want it (/pvp); “PvP” - your flag turns on by itself in contested and enemy zones, and one faction per account; “RP” - same as Normal. Hardcore comes after launch.
Horde lands on the route: Mulgore, the Barrens, Tirisfal, Silverpine. Contested: Stonetalon, Hillsbrad, Ashenvale, Thousand Needles.
Battlegrounds: Warsong Gulch from 10, Arathi Basin from 20, the new Darkspear Islands (15 vs 15) from 30, Alterac Valley from 51. Brackets of 10 levels. On the beta, according to testers, only the level 30 battleground is open.
You also get honor for killing players in the world. PvP sets start at level 55 - no need to think about them before 30.
For a warrior: Hamstring on a runner; War Stomp - 2 seconds on everyone nearby to interrupt a spell or get a hit in. No answer to fear before 30 - at 30 you get Berserker Rage.
Experience and conveniencesofficial
Cooked food gives +5% experience from kills. Camping buffs, the tent and the sleeping bag.
Dungeon quests give 2–3 times the experience of normal ones.
There's no automatic dungeon finder - only the bulletin board, and meeting stones don't summon.
Mobs respawn faster in Hillsbrad, Ashenvale and Thousand Needles.
The Legacy system: account-wide bonuses unlock once your first character reaches 25.
Books from all over the world can be turned in to the librarian in Undercity's Magic Quarter for rewards.
Playing with friends who share a language? Pick your preferred language in the settings: you'll land in the same world layer as its speakers more often.
1 - Camp Narache. 12 - the Crossroads (step), until level 20: you hearth back from Orgrimmar at 13 (step) and from Thunder Bluff at 16 (step), and at 20 from the Stonetalon border (step).
22 - Undercity (step): hearth from Hillsbrad to the trainer and the zeppelin (step). 27 - Splintertree Post (step): from Zoram'gar back to the Foulweald (step). 29–30 - Freewind Post (step): after Fray Island - straight to the 30+ quests (step).
For short distances - a death run. Free until level 10, after that - “Resurrection Sickness” and −25% durability.
20–30: Chol'aruk (level 20 elite) near the Crossroads, the Syndicate at Durnholde Keep, Keeper Ordanus with guards in Ashenvale, Broodmother Valraxx (level 31 elite) at Gloomrise.
Common mistakes
Fighting with your starting mace until 10: it has 1.4 DPS. Wooden Mallet from the village vendor (from 4) hits three times harder, and at 10 you get Goblin Smasher.
Paid a weapon master for maces: a Tauren warrior knows One-Handed and Two-Handed Maces and One-Handed Axes from the start.
Looked for the stance at the trainer, when only the class quest at Far Watch Post in the Barrens gives it: Path of Defense[10].
Took a quest for hides or bones after already killing those mobs: quest loot only drops while the quest is in your log.
