Skyborne Druids earn their forms through a different start on Zephras Isle. This Horde WoW Forever route covers the island Bear Form quest, Moonglade, and the Windborne cat before joining the Barrens route to 30. Form and healing rewards, trainers, reagents, and four builds using the current tree are included. Finish the island class business before moving on.
Updated November 4, 2026 for Blizzard's November 2 changes: new Cat, Bear and healer Cat orders (Furor and Heart of the Wild swapped trees, Lacerate became a talent), and Ferocious Bite from 24.

What to install from CurseForge for Forever: the useful and the fun
Maps inside dungeons:Dungeon Crawler Forever shows floors, passages, bosses and quests. Open it with /dm. Its data changes with the beta: double-check quest requirements in game. More conveniences, screenshots and highlight commands - in the useful addons guide.
How to install. In the CurseForge app, add the game with the “+” button and point it to your Forever client folder - a Forever tab appears. Manually on the beta: the _classic_beta_\Interface\AddOns folder. Addons for regular Classic won't work - you need a file marked Forever (1.60.1). ★ - our pick.
Already in the game - no addon needed: coordinates on the map and minimap (turn them on in the settings), quest objectives on the map (the “Enhanced” template at first login, or the quest objectives option), a damage meter, a swing timer, the Cooldown Manager, one combined bag, an equipment manager and a modern auction house. Not in the game: a threat meter, markers for quests you haven't picked up yet, and a /way command.
Quests and map
★ Questie - who gives quests and where the objectives are, on the map and minimap. It still lacks some of the new Forever quests.
★ TomTom - an arrow to a point. The coordinates on this site copy as a /way command for it.
★ Leatrix Maps - reveals unexplored parts of the map, shows dungeon entrances, and the map can be enlarged.
Forever Quest Tint - tints the text of new Forever quests, so you see at a glance what's new.
Conveniences
★ Leatrix Plus - auto quest turn-in, junk selling, repairs, fast loot and dozens of small things. There's a separate version for Forever.
★ Baganator - proper bags and bank: the built-in combined bag can't be moved. A similar one - Bagnon.
★ Auctionator - posts auctions quickly, remembers prices and shows them in tooltips.
★ Platynator - draws neat bars above mobs and marks the ones you need for a quest. Very handy while leveling.
Professions
★ GatherLite - herbs, ore and fish on the map: it already ships with more than 26 thousand points made for Forever.
GatherMate2 - the same, but it only remembers points as you gather them yourself.
For fun: voiceover and dialogue
★ Spoken - English voiceover for quests, books and zones. On the Forever forums it gets the most praise: “like an audiobook”. More in the addons guide.
★ Immersion - movie-style NPC dialogue instead of the usual quest window.
Optional
Details! or ThreatClassic2 - threat in dungeons: the built-in damage meter doesn't show it.
Easy Experience Bar - experience per hour and how much is left to the next level.
Dungeon Journal - dungeon quests and loot: Forever has no dungeon journal of its own.
WeakAuras has no Forever version; use the fork ForeverAuras instead (it can do what the built-in Cooldown Manager sees).
For mail, instead of Postal try Forever Mail: recipient picker, mail history and attachment lists. More in the general addons guide.
Zygor and ElvUI aren't installed through CurseForge.
Combat “helpers” that do calculations are banned in Forever, as in the modern game: addons may display, but not calculate.
For Druids
★ Forever_DruidManaBar - a mana bar under your rage or energy while you're in Bear or Cat Form. According to the addon's description, Forever's default UI doesn't show mana in forms, and your mana decides whether you can afford to shift out and heal. Made for Forever (file 1.60.1), and the author fixes bugs within a day.
Tanking dungeons as a bear? Install a threat meter from the "Optional" card: the built-in damage meter doesn't show threat.

How not to lose hours while leveling
Small things about your route, mobs, mana, and speed that add up to hours over a whole leveling run
Route
Running around eats roughly a third of all leveling time. So grab quests in bundles and finish them in one trip, with at least two or three objectives close together on the map.
Don't be afraid to drop a quest with a rare drop, an NPC who isn't there, or an objective on the far side of the zone. Leave escorts for the end of the loop, since they usually run through the same mobs the nearby quests need.
Heading to the next spot with full mana and health? Kill mobs on the way. You regenerate anyway, and a couple of extra mobs on every run adds up to hours by the end.
While a mob is dying, start walking to the next one. Finish off the last few percent with auto attacks or a wand instead of a big spell.
Which mobs
Green mobs die fast and are barely a threat, but in Forever they give 4-20% less XP than in Classic. Blizzard says that's intended. Look at XP per hour, not at the color.
Yellow and green mobs are a fine pick. Orange and red ones are almost always worse. There's no XP penalty, but you miss more, fights drag on, and your mana and health melt faster. The one exception is elite group quests, if you've got a group.
Supplies and timing
Always carry food and water, or you'll get stuck in the middle of a mob camp with empty bars. Addons that auto-sell gray items and auto-repair at a vendor save time too.
Use your Hearthstone and long-cooldown abilities on cooldown, not "for later." The perfect moment might never come.
Spirit is useful for everyone while leveling, because you spend less time sitting between fights. Got an item with Spirit that's a bit weaker on other stats? I'd keep it.
Build and trainer
Leveling talents aren't level 60 talents. While leveling, you're your own tank and healer, so defensive and recovery talents beat an extra percent of damage.
The Legacy perk "Thrill of Adventure" gives back up to 5% health and mana after you kill a mob that gives XP.
New ranks show up every 2 levels, but not every trip to the trainer is worth it. Check what you'll actually get, and don't fly to a capital for a rank that barely changes anything.
People
Buff someone who's passing by, and they'll probably return the favor.
Elite quests go faster with a partner, and on PvP servers it's a lot safer too.
DoTs
The free addon Does It Die shows whether the DoTs already ticking will finish the mob. If they will, a skull shows up on the target's portrait and you can move on to the next one. It's made for Forever, and the settings are under /did.
Speed
Travel in Cat Form if you took the speed talent, and switch to Travel Form at 30.
✦
Leveling talents
Pick a build for 10-30 and follow its point order
You get your first point at 10, then another each level. I'd follow Feral Combat: Cat for ordinary solo questing. Beta resets cost 1 if you haven't reset recently, so you can use a Bear build until 20 and move the points afterward. At launch, a respec costs 1 gold or more. If you want that Bear-to-Cat reset at 20, save at least 1 gold by 20. Otherwise you'll have to keep your current points for a while. Hover a talent for its tooltip. The calculator button opens the same build and point order.
Feral Combat: Catmain0 / 21 / 0Bear from 10, Cat from 20. That's the usual solo recommendation from Warcraft Tavern, Method, and beta players. Caster leveling has had a rough reception in Forever.
Start with Ferocity to make Maul and Claw cheaper. At 15-17, Furor 3/5: since November 2 it sits in Feral instead of Heart of the Wild. Shift out of Cat to heal, and you come back with part of your energy. At 18-19, Feral Swiftness initially gives your Bear +4% dodge. Once you get Cat at 20, it gives +30% movement speed, even indoors in Forever. Take Blood Frenzy at 25-26 for extra combo points on crits, then Leader of the Pack at 30 for +3% group crit while you're in form.
Cat has no way to damage several targets together here. On three mobs, shift to Bear. Dungeon tanking is also harder than with the Bear build, since you won't have Lacerate.
Pick a staff or two-handed mace with high DPS. Forever uses weapon damage for form auto-attacks and Claw, so an upgrade matters even when you can't see it in your paws.
In Classic, Leader of the Pack gives the Druid crit too. Check that at 30. If Forever's version doesn't, I'd take Furor 4/5 instead.
Feral Combat: Bearfor dungeons0 / 21 / 0Follow a tanking route with Furor 5/5 by 19 and Lacerate at 25. I'd choose this if you spend a lot of time in dungeons.
Furor 5/5 by 19 (Bear starts with 10 rage on shifting; since November 2 the talent sits in Feral instead of Heart of the Wild). At 20, Feral Charge adds a charge that interrupts, and Lacerate at 25 becomes your main threat button: on November 2 it replaced Primal Bite in row 4. For solo Cat fights, you still get help from Sharpened Claws, Savage Fury, and Blood Frenzy.
You won't have Feral Swiftness, so Cat runs slower. It also hits less hard than the main build before 25.
If your groups pull large packs, I'd swap Thick Hide for Feral Instinct 3/3 at 28-30. Your Swipe then hits 30% harder.
Feral Combat: Furor Catsafest0 / 12 / 9Spend 12 points in Feral Combat and 9 in Restoration. This suits frequent mid-fight heals or a character who can't afford a death.
Feral talent Furor (since November 2) has nothing to do with spell Wrath. It lets you leave Cat to heal and return with the energy you had, while Bear starts with 10 rage. At 22-26, Heart of the Wild 5/5: it moved to Restoration on November 2 and gives more Intellect, plus Strength in Cat. At 27-29, Natural Shapeshifter cuts shifting costs by 30%.
Kills take longer than with the main build. Beta players disagree about Furor. Some find it useless for damage, while others want it baseline. I'd judge this by how often you need to shift out and heal.
Consider it if you leave form to heal more than once every couple of fights.
Balance: Roots and Wrathif you want to cast21 / 0 / 0Spend 21 points in Balance for faster, half-cost Wrath and roots that survive more damage. Beta feedback puts this last for solo speed. In a group, you can take the healer spot.
Ranks 3-5 of Wrath still hit noticeably less hard than Classic after the buff, and mana goes quickly. Balance's one new button before 30 is Insect Swarm at 25.
Keep meat and eggs for Cooking and cloth for bandages. Before you head out, sell your greys and free up bag space for quest items.
⚔︎ PvP
All of Zephras Isle is a sanctuary: there's no PvP here on any ruleset. Alliance Skyborne of the High Order quest nearby and kill the same mobs - whoever tags first gets the loot.
The Anchors of Zephras[2] didn't give credit before October 7. Still broken? Abandon it; it's worth 85 XP. Walk on Air stays useful: glide down island cliffs now, avoid lethal falls later.

A Skyborne Druid already knows Staves, One-Handed and Two-Handed Maces, and Daggers. Keep your starting Handcrafted Staff for the first fights. From Harmony in Balance[1], choose Vuldren Hide Bracers for forms: the leather bracers fill an empty slot and give 15 armor. Take the cloth boots Fur-Lined Shoes only if they add more armor in their slot.
Skysight has a 0.5-second cast and gives +15% speed for 15 seconds; 2-minute cooldown. At an Elemental Convergence you also get the Charged buff for an hour: with it each cast gives +30%, and the buff persists through death.
The default on this route is Mining and Skinning for gold. Want Herbalism and Alchemy instead? Pick the matching manual and skip the Mining profession quest below. From The Cirrusfly Queen[3], choose Exterminator's Vest for forms: a leather vest with 33 armor. Good for the start and for your future bear; compare it with your current chest.

Planting Shovel has +1 Strength. Don't pick a one-handed option just for its speed: for forms, compare the overall DPS and stats.

Dungeon 17-24 · quests in Thunder Bluff, Ratchet and at the entrance
0 of 6
Got a group? Wailing Caverns finishes eight quests, and Leaders of the Fang[22] offers a choice: Hammerbone (a two-handed mace, 20.4 DPS, +7 Strength) is the best cat and bear weapon until 30. Crescent Staff only if you heal or level as Balance. No group - don't take a single quest from here.
Don't forget in this section
Apothecary Zamah[15] is timed: take it only when you're ready to fly straight to Camp Taurajo and run to Thunder Bluff.
Smart Drinks[18] in Ratchet is only offered after Raptor Horns[18] - turn that one in beforehand.
The cave quests come from Thunder Bluff, Ratchet and the hill above the entrance: collect them before the group forms.
Drops from:Deviate Hide - Deviate Coiler, Deviate Stinglash, Deviate Creeper and others · Gem of Cobrahn - Lord Cobrahn, Cobrahn Snake Form · Gem of Anacondra - Lady Anacondra · Gem of Pythas - Lord Pythas · Gem of Serpentis - Lord Serpentis · Wailing Essence - Devouring Ectoplasm, Evolving Ectoplasm, Nightmare Ectoplasm and others
Druids of the Fang cast Sleep and heal themselves - interrupt them with Bash.
If you're going to dungeons as a healer, you can choose Crescent Staff instead of the mace from Leaders of the Fang[22]: compare Intellect, Spirit and spell power.

The Barrens: the south and Chol'aruk
Camp Taurajo, the quilboar, the Field of Giants and the elite Chol'aruk
0 of 8
First we finish the Barrens up to 21: the Taurajo and Crossroads quests, the Field of Giants and the elite Chol'aruk. Move your hearthstone to the Crossroads - that's where the road to Orgrimmar starts later.
Don't forget in this section
Chol'aruk the Ravener[21] - the elite Chol'aruk (level 20) with elite guards: better with two. In Forever this quest gives triple experience, and the reward is a two-handed mace with 16 DPS.
Tusks, heads and adornments only drop while you have the quests - take everything at Taurajo and the Crossroads before you go hunting.
New in Forever: Stepping Stones[24] starts at the burned-out remains south of Taurajo - at the end you get Old Toolbox, a 12-slot bag (step).
Didn't work out with Chol'aruk? in the game files, Etu Ragetotem in Thunder Bluff and Koru in Orgrimmar sell Maul≈ 110, level 21, also 16 DPS. The goblin in Stonetalon doesn't sell anything on the beta.
◈ Loot along the way
Raptors, kodos and thunderhawks give Medium Leather when skinned: sell it at the auction house or use it for Leatherworking. Don't sell the Blood Shards from the Bristlebacks - Mangletooth takes them for a buff.
➶ Level faster
If your build has Feral Swiftness (the main "Feral Combat: Cat" build): travel in Cat Form - that's +30% speed right away. No talent? Run in normal form and use Skysight: +15% for 15 seconds, +30% with the Charged buff from an Elemental Convergence.
The Barrens rares Humar the Pridelord (level 23 elite) and Takk the Leaper drop set pieces: two of them give +5% run speed in the Barrens and Stonetalon. If you see one, don't walk past.
⚔︎ PvP
The Alliance hunts Chol'aruk too - they have their own version of this quest. Someone hanging around his camp isn't necessarily a partner. On PvP realms in the Barrens it's their flag that's up, not yours.
At launch, Arathi Basin opens at 20 (15 vs 15, bracket 20-29). On the beta, according to testers, only the new battleground from 30 works.
Letter to Jin'Zil[20] is a letter to Stonetalon; you'll deliver it on the next loop (step).

⚔︎Questing loop: “Chol'aruk the Ravener”, “Ishamuhale”, “Tribes at War” and 3 more
◎
➜≈ 650 yards east · ~1.5 min on foot
Northeast of the Crossroads: Chol'aruk with elite guards - the head for Chol'aruk the Ravener[21]. Ishamuhale doesn't roam: while you have the quest, any zhevra drops a fresh carcass - use it at the withered tree and he comes running. The fang - Ishamuhale[19].
Drops from:Chol'aruk's Head - Chol'aruk
Chol'aruk is a level 20 elite: tough solo, so call a friend. Didn't work? Don't abandon the quest: he stands by the road to Orgrimmar, and you'll come back for him at 22 (step).
How to do this quest - Chol'aruk the Ravener
The lair is a cave, entrance . Inside are level 18-20 elites, but they're spread out: go around them along the edge and you'll reach him with almost no fights. He has about 5.5k health.
The quest marker points to the Wetlands - that's a beta bug, he's in the Barrens.
The Field of Giants south of Taurajo : 12 Silithid Eggs from the mounds and the Digging Claw - Egg Hunt[22]. Nearby - Burned-Out Remains : inspect them, that's the new !Stepping Stones[24].
Silithids that call in swarms of small bugs - kill those first. Stepping Stones[24] is a clue that leads to Stonetalon: you'll turn it in there, and the reward is Old Toolbox, a 12-slot bag.

You've been carrying Kaya's Alive[18] since level 19 - it's turned in at Sun Rock Retreat (step).
¤ Shopping and useful stuff
The goblins in Stonetalon don't trade on the beta: Veenix sells nothing, and Nizzik doesn't even respond (according to player comments).
⚔︎ PvP
Stonetalon is a contested zone: on PvP realms your flag turns on here by itself. The Alliance from Stonetalon Peak quests at Windshear Crag - on the same goblins as you.
⚔︎Questing loop: “Blood Feeders” and “Arachnophobia”
◎
➜≈ 850 yards northwest · ~2 min on foot
Spiders northwest of Malaka'jin: Deepmoss Creepers in the southern valley and Venomspitters - Blood Feeders[19]. The "Wanted" poster - !Arachnophobia[21]: the elite Besseleth , only with a friend (Arachnophobia[21]).
The spiderlings can call in a level 22 matriarch: that's what Nature's Grasp is for.
Two rare elites roam here - a Venture Co. overseer and a foreman. Go around them. If the goblin dies, the quest fails: abandon Gerenzo's Orders[22] and take it again when he's back. Doesn't work the second time either? Abandon it and later turn in only Super Reaper 6000[21].
How to do this quest - Gerenzo's Orders
Two waves: first three level 21 fighters, then two fighters and two casters of level 22-23. Very hard solo at 21 - bring a friend.
The next quest in the chain, Wet Job[32], leads to Loch Modan in Alliance land - don't take it.
How to do this quest - Cycle of Rebirth
The seeds are small brown cones on the ground around the lake, at about six spots. Turn down grass density in the graphics settings and they become visible.
Shred only works from behind - open fights with it without leaving stealth (Prowl). Want another 6-7 thousand experience and the Zoram'gar flight path? The road, the zeppelin and the quests for two dungeons
0 of 6
Walk to Orgrimmar, then take the zeppelin to Undercity. Collect the Ruins of Lordaeron and Shadowfang Keep quests there right away. Dungeons are done in a group of five: no group - don't take The Wrath of Rath'mael[22], Light's Justice[22], The New Plague[22], and The Book of Ur[26], or they'll just sit in your log. Without a group you'll fall about 2 levels behind: going by beta data, the dungeon quests at 22-29 are worth about 75 thousand experience. The optional branches make up part of it - the southern Barrens at 29 and the backup quests in Thousand Needles (step). If you skipped western Ashenvale, you can do its new quests at 27 too (step). Make up the rest by killing mobs along the way.
Don't forget in this section
Set your hearthstone in Undercity: from Dun Garok you'll hearth straight back to the trainer and the zeppelin.
There's no zeppelin from Thunder Bluff in Forever: the only way to the Eastern Kingdoms is through Orgrimmar. You won't need the zeppelin back - you'll get home by teleporting through Moonglade (at 26).
➜
From the Crossroads, take the road north, across the bridge into Durotar, to the gates of Orgrimmar.
Haven't turned in Chol'aruk the Ravener[21]? Chol'aruk stands northeast of the Crossroads, not far from this road. Killed him? Go back to the Crossroads before you leave the Barrens (turn it in to Gur'ak). Still no luck? Abandon the quest: the replacement is Gnarled Necromancer's Staff from the Ruins of Lordaeron (step), or without a group, Maul from a vendor in Undercity.

The Sepulcher, Ambermill and a pendant half at the bottom of the sea
0 of 7
This is your first time here, but skip the forest's early quests: they give little experience now, and the Ambermill chain starts at level 10. Take the level 20-22 quests around the Sepulcher and the second pendant half for Aquatic Form.

According to beta data, dungeon quests in Forever give 2-3 times more experience than regular ones - the keep's three quests are worth it. No group for the keep, but you have one for the Ruins of Lordaeron? Fly from the Sepulcher to Undercity (step). No group for either? Go from the Sepulcher straight to Hillsbrad (step), and learn the level 24 abilities together with the level 26 ones (step).
Drops from:Head of Arugal - Archmage Arugal, Arugal
In a group, a Druid is usually the tank: in Forever Growl has an 8-second cooldown, and Demoralizing Roar now generates threat. Can't hold threat? Install a threat meter (see the addons article).
The Sepulcher, Karos Razok: fly to Undercity. The Ruins of Lordaeron are in the ruins of the capital right above it.
The level 24 trainer comes after the Ruins (step): you'll definitely be 24 by then.

Ruins of Lordaeron
A new Forever dungeon right above Undercity
0 of 6
A group of five, six bosses in any order. The quests are level 21-22, and dungeon quests in Forever give 2-3 times the experience of normal ones - one of the most rewarding stops in 20-30. No group for the Ruins, but you did Shadowfang Keep? In Undercity, turn in The Book of Ur[26], teleport to Loganaar in Moonglade for the level 24 abilities, hearth back (step) and fly to the Sepulcher (step).
The Alliance has quests in the Ruins of Lordaeron too - their groups run across all of Tirisfal to the gates of Undercity. This is your land with guards nearby: on PvP realms it's their flag that's up, not yours.
After the Ruins you'll definitely be 24; if not, don't waste your hearthstone - learn the level 24 abilities together with the level 26 ones (step). Don't look for Tiger's Fury at the trainer: it was removed in the October 1 beta patch. According to beta feedback, Rake is expensive for its damage: Claw is better on regular mobs, so save the bleed for mobs that live longer.
The road southeast into Hillsbrad Foothills: Deathstalker Lesh at the border - accept !Time To Strike[20]. Then follow the road east to Tarren Mill.

Hillsbrad Foothills
Tarren Mill, Durnholde Keep, the Hillsbrad fields
0 of 9
Tarren Mill is the Forsaken stronghold in Hillsbrad: this is where you turn in Journey to Tarren Mill[18], which you've been carrying since level 20. Don't go into Southshore (Alliance) - it has guards.
Wool Cloth from the Hillsbrad humans - for bandages and the auction house. Mountain lion meat goes into Hot Lion Chops (Agility, Cooking 125), the recipe comes from Elixir of Pain[24].
⚔︎ PvP
Tarren Mill versus Southshore is the classic faction war. In Forever the Alliance quests here from 21 to 30 and goes to the town hall in Hillsbrad Fields - the same place where you kill the farmers. Alliance Rogues wait until you're locked in a fight with a footman: shapeshifting removes roots and slows, and Nature's Grasp roots the first enemy who hits you in melee - that's your chance to open the distance.
Beta chases often end at a zone border, where the other player can disappear into a different layer. That's another copy of the zone. A border may help you escape, but chasing someone across it can waste your time.
The Deathstalker's exact spot is still being confirmed on the beta - follow the quest marker.
How to do this quest - Scout Support
According to a tester's comment, the quest only opens after the second “Battle of Hillsbrad” (level 25): if High Executor Darthalia doesn't offer it, turn that one in and ask again. Deathstalker Masoj himself stands alone on a hill north of Nethander Stead .
The peaks, according to testers' comments: on the hills above Dun Garok , on the plateau above Durnholde , and above the yeti cave , not inside it. Level 33 mountain lions roam by the third one - approach carefully.
Drops from:Vial of Innocent Blood - Syndicate Shadow Mage
The Syndicate stand close together - pull them one at a time from the edge. Shadow Mages cast from range: pull them around a corner so they come right up to you.
How to do this quest - The Rescue
The keys aren't interchangeable, the pairs are “jailor → prisoner”: Jailor Eston → Drull, Jailor Marlgen → Tog'thar. The jailors spawn near the prisoners, sometimes on the road to them.
The key says “Failed!” - that's normal, click again.
The rewards are no use to a Druid: Weathered Deathstalker's Blade is a sword, and Expended Apothecary Vial is an off-hand item you can't use with a two-handed mace. Take the sword and sell it - it's worth more (about 28 silver versus 10).

Don't forget in this section
Teleport: Moonglade works right from Dun Garok: no need to travel to Moonglade on foot.

From Moonglade, the Druid flight goes to Thunder Bluff. If it isn't available, hearth to Undercity, then take the zeppelin to Orgrimmar: Zapetta . The other zeppelin master, Hin Denburg , sends you to Grom'gol.
Mirkfallon Lake, Stonetalon Peak, the Charred Vale, the Venture Co. Airport

The Sun Rock Retreat chains lead into Ashenvale and Thousand Needles - so the mountains first, then the forest. Along the way you do two quests from Thunder Bluff.

Cenarius' Legacy[25] → Ordanus[29]: the target of the second quest is in Ashenvale. Take it while you're here.
Aquatic Form: you swim faster and breathe underwater - swim across Mirkfallon Lake instead of going around the shore.
⚔︎ PvP
The Alliance has its own quest on the same Bloodfury harpies, and their Stonetalon Peak is close by. Rogues wait until you're tangled up with a couple of harpies - pull them one at a time. Put Faerie Fire on a Rogue - while it's on him, he can't go back into stealth.
Splintertree Post is a big Horde quest hub. The eastern loop first, then Zoram'gar and, if you have a group, Blackfathom Deeps. You'll also finish The Ashenvale Hunt[20] and The Sacred Flame[25] from Thunder Bluff here.
Don't forget in this section

About 15 thousand experience near Taurajo, on the way to Thousand Needles. Useful if you're short of 30 or you've got a group for Razorfen Kraul. Weapons of Choice[24] rewards Demolition Hammer, a two-handed mace with 17.6 DPS.
Travel Form from 30: +40% speed outdoors. Nobody has a mount until 40 - the only one who keeps up with you is a Shaman: Ghost Wolf also gave +40% in Classic.
⚔︎ PvP
Level 30 - battlegrounds. On the beta the new battleground Darkspear Islands, 15 vs 15, opens at 30. Battlemasters in the capitals queue you, and there's also a portal in the Darkspear Raiders camp north of Ratchet. Don't fall into the water - testers complain about sharks.
Druid PvP: shapeshifting removes roots and slows, and Hibernate also works on an Alliance Druid in animal form. Thousand Needles is contested, but the Alliance has almost no quests here until 30+.
Not 30 yet? Make it up right here: Cliffwatcher Longhorn now gives Grimtotem Spying[28] - three notes in crates at Darkcloud Pinnacle , in the Grimtotem Tauren camp; Elu - Wind Rider[29]: 10 wyvern eggs at Highperch in the west . Both quests go back to whoever gave them.
What's next (30+): the rest of Thousand Needles, Ordanus[29] → The Den[29] in Stonetalon, the Shimmering Flats, Hillsbrad and Arathi, "Excavation Site: Wetlands" and the Scarlet Monastery. That will be the next part of the guide.
☠︎
Dungeons: what to pick up in advance
Quests offered far from the entrance - so you don't have to come back
In Forever, experience from dungeon mobs is lower, while dungeon quests give 2-3 times the experience of normal ones (even after the beta bonus was cut in half). Going in without quests makes little sense - collect them in advance, but not earlier than needed: quests "for later" clog your log. A Druid is always welcome in a group: a bear tank, a healer, and from 12 you also have Revive.
For a Druid: the Embrace of the Viper set from the Fanglords - leather with Intellect and Agility. According to beta data, all 5 pieces turn your cat into a snake (appearance only).
What to learn, which form to fight in and what to hit with - up to level 30
Cat Form at 20 comes from a class quest in Forever. Beta players couldn't learn it from the trainer. Your weapon also matters in Bear and Cat. Auto-attacks use its DPS, and Claw deals 140% weapon damage (since November 2, was 110%). Potions and most consumables work in form, and you can't be disarmed while shifted. Learn Nature's Grasp at 10 and Omen of Clarity at 20 from the trainer. The new Revive at 12 gives an out-of-combat resurrection. Your Wrath costs half as much but hits less hard, Tiger's Fury is gone, and the old powershifting loop doesn't work here.
For 1-9, pull with Moonfire and use staff swings up close. Keep Thorns and Mark of the Wild active. From 10-20, use Bear, starting with Enrage and spending rage on Maul swings. Add Demoralizing Roar for two mobs and Swipe for three from 16. Once you get Cat at 20, use Prowl to approach and Claw to build 4-5 combo points. Against three or more, return to Bear and use Demoralizing Roar and Swipe. Better yet, root part of the pack before pulling.
Use Bear Form from 10 until 20. You swing every 2.5 seconds with your weapon's damage and build rage from hits and crits. Shifting in costs 55% of base mana.
From 20, Cat Form gives a swing every second and combo points to spend. Method and beta players report that those points stay when you change targets. Carry them into the next pull.
The quest for Aquatic Form starts at 16 and runs until about 26 in this route. You can breathe underwater and swim faster, useful for Blackfathom Deeps. It also rewards Idol of Shifting Tides, cutting shapeshift costs by 40 mana.
Learn Travel Form at 30 for +40% outdoor movement speed. Before mounts at 40, a Shaman using Ghost Wolf is the one who can keep pace.
Compare weapon DPS first for Bear and Cat, then Strength, Agility, and Stamina. Forever uses that damage in forms. Intellect and Spirit help when you shift out to heal, but can't make up for a weak weapon.
Keep a healing staff with Intellect, Spirit, and spell power, such as Crescent Staff from Leaders of the Fang[22]. Druids can't equip mail, shields, swords, axes, or wands.
An off-hand item needs a dagger or one-handed mace. If you're using a staff or two-handed mace, you won't get the off-hand stats.
Mana and healing
How to spend less time drinking
Entering Bear or Cat costs 55% of base mana. Leaving is free. If you've got enough health for the next pull, I'd stay shifted instead of popping out just for Rejuvenation.
From 12, Regrowth is your main heal. It costs almost half its Classic price in Forever. Put Rejuvenation up before a pull if you want healing while you fight.
Mana keeps regenerating while you fight in form because you aren't spending it. Pull with Moonfire, then shift straight into Bear.
You can use healing and mana potions without leaving form in Forever. First Aid now makes the healing potions.
Use Veildust Medicine Bag from Curing the Sick[14] out of combat. Equip it in place of your two-handed mace, use it, then put your weapon back on before pulling.
After the island, Child of Nature[10] and Moonglade[10] take you to the Druids in Thunder Bluff and Moonglade. The teleport will save time on later training trips.
4 builds with a talent tree and the order by level
The main one is "Feral Combat: Cat": Feral Swiftness at 18-19, Leader of the Pack at 30. There's also "Feral Combat: Bear" for dungeons, "Feral Combat: Furor Cat" and Balance.
All builds, the tree and the point order are in the "Leveling talents" section.
How not to die
Combos that save you
Use Nature's Grasp before a pull. The first melee attacker gets rooted. It works indoors and while shifted in Forever.
Bad pull? Leave form, use Regrowth and Rejuvenation, then shift back to Bear. If you need to get clear, run in Cat.
Your Revive brings an ally back out of combat. In a dungeon, that's one less corpse run for the group.
⚒
Professions, loot and reagents
On the island, this route covers Mining and Skinning for gold. Picked something else? Only take the quests for your own professions. Cooking and First Aid are available no matter which two primary professions you have.
Maple Seed from 20 and Stranglethorn Seed for the next rank at 30 are the reagents for Rebirth. The Crossroads: Hula'mahi . Check which seed you need in the tooltip of the rank you've learned.
Idol of Shifting Tides is a relic that lowers the mana cost of shapeshifting. Veildust Medicine Bag is a backup mana restore: out of combat, equip it in your off hand, use it, then put your two-handed weapon back on.
Sell ore and hides. Use cloth for bandages. Keep quest items until you turn in the matching quests.
Skysight: 0.5-second cast, 2-minute cooldown, +15% speed for 15 seconds. At an Elemental Convergence - the Charged buff for an hour: +30% with it, and it persists through death.
Walk on Air: 10 seconds of gliding, 1.5-minute cooldown. On a dangerous drop, activate it in midair and keep an eye on the time left.
Druids after October 15beta data
Shred is learned at 20. It needs Cat Form and a position behind the target. Solo, with the mob facing you, keep using Claw.
Your weapon affects form damage: this is an official Forever change. For healing you still need a set with Intellect, Spirit and spell power.
Talents are checked against the October 16 snapshot. Tauren racials aren't covered in this guide.
Skyborne have their own bear and cat chains. The old database still hasn't updated the race restrictions on the Cure Poison and Aquatic Form quests. Beta players have confirmed that Windshapers can complete them.
