Your Skyborne Warrior's first upgrades come from Zephras Isle, before the trip to Orgrimmar. This Horde route continues through the Barrens and the other leveling zones to 30. Class quests, weapons and rewards, professions, and useful purchases are worked into the steps. I'd pay particular attention to the weapon stops. A Warrior has to swing whatever you've given them.
Updated November 4, 2026 for Blizzard's November 2 changes: new Arms and Cruelty orders (Improved Tactical Mastery now has 3 ranks), Defensive Stance threat and the Slam cooldown.

What to install from CurseForge for Forever: the useful and the fun
Maps inside dungeons:Dungeon Crawler Forever shows floors, passages, bosses and quests. Open it with /dm. Its data changes with the beta: double-check quest requirements in game. More conveniences, screenshots and highlight commands - in the useful addons guide.
How to install. In the CurseForge app, add the game with the “+” button and point it to your Forever client folder - a Forever tab appears. Manually on the beta: the _classic_beta_\Interface\AddOns folder. Addons for regular Classic won't work - you need a file marked Forever (1.60.1). ★ - our pick.
Already in the game - no addon needed: coordinates on the map and minimap (turn them on in the settings), quest objectives on the map (the “Enhanced” template at first login, or the quest objectives option), a damage meter, a swing timer, the Cooldown Manager, one combined bag, an equipment manager and a modern auction house. Not in the game: a threat meter, markers for quests you haven't picked up yet, and a /way command.
Quests and map
★ Questie - who gives quests and where the objectives are, on the map and minimap. It still lacks some of the new Forever quests.
★ TomTom - an arrow to a point. The coordinates on this site copy as a /way command for it.
★ Leatrix Maps - reveals unexplored parts of the map, shows dungeon entrances, and the map can be enlarged.
Forever Quest Tint - tints the text of new Forever quests, so you see at a glance what's new.
Conveniences
★ Leatrix Plus - auto quest turn-in, junk selling, repairs, fast loot and dozens of small things. There's a separate version for Forever.
★ Baganator - proper bags and bank: the built-in combined bag can't be moved. A similar one - Bagnon.
★ Auctionator - posts auctions quickly, remembers prices and shows them in tooltips.
★ Platynator - draws neat bars above mobs and marks the ones you need for a quest. Very handy while leveling.
Professions
★ GatherLite - herbs, ore and fish on the map: it already ships with more than 26 thousand points made for Forever.
GatherMate2 - the same, but it only remembers points as you gather them yourself.
For fun: voiceover and dialogue
★ Spoken - English voiceover for quests, books and zones. On the Forever forums it gets the most praise: “like an audiobook”. More in the addons guide.
★ Immersion - movie-style NPC dialogue instead of the usual quest window.
Optional
Details! or ThreatClassic2 - threat in dungeons: the built-in damage meter doesn't show it.
Easy Experience Bar - experience per hour and how much is left to the next level.
Dungeon Journal - dungeon quests and loot: Forever has no dungeon journal of its own.
WeakAuras has no Forever version; use the fork ForeverAuras instead (it can do what the built-in Cooldown Manager sees).
For mail, instead of Postal try Forever Mail: recipient picker, mail history and attachment lists. More in the general addons guide.
Zygor and ElvUI aren't installed through CurseForge.
Combat “helpers” that do calculations are banned in Forever, as in the modern game: addons may display, but not calculate.
For Warriors
OverpowerAlert - a sound and on-screen text when Overpower lights up after your target dodges. It also warns you when Revenge is ready. Settings - /opa. Made for Forever (file from October 12), about 1.2 thousand downloads.
WeaponSwingTimer - Queuing - a swing bar that changes color while Heroic Strike or Cleave is queued. It also shows when to press Slam so you don't clip your swing. Forever's built-in attack timer doesn't show the queue. There's a Forever file.
Tanking dungeons? Install a threat meter from the "Optional" card: the built-in damage meter doesn't show threat.

How not to lose hours while leveling
Small things about your route, mobs, mana, and speed that add up to hours over a whole leveling run
Route
Running around eats roughly a third of all leveling time. So grab quests in bundles and finish them in one trip, with at least two or three objectives close together on the map.
Don't be afraid to drop a quest with a rare drop, an NPC who isn't there, or an objective on the far side of the zone. Leave escorts for the end of the loop, since they usually run through the same mobs the nearby quests need.
Heading to the next spot with full mana and health? Kill mobs on the way. You regenerate anyway, and a couple of extra mobs on every run adds up to hours by the end.
While a mob is dying, start walking to the next one. Finish off the last few percent with auto attacks or a wand instead of a big spell.
Which mobs
Green mobs die fast and are barely a threat, but in Forever they give 4-20% less XP than in Classic. Blizzard says that's intended. Look at XP per hour, not at the color.
Yellow and green mobs are a fine pick. Orange and red ones are almost always worse. There's no XP penalty, but you miss more, fights drag on, and your mana and health melt faster. The one exception is elite group quests, if you've got a group.
Supplies and timing
Always carry food and water, or you'll get stuck in the middle of a mob camp with empty bars. Addons that auto-sell gray items and auto-repair at a vendor save time too.
Use your Hearthstone and long-cooldown abilities on cooldown, not "for later." The perfect moment might never come.
Spirit is useful for everyone while leveling, because you spend less time sitting between fights. Got an item with Spirit that's a bit weaker on other stats? I'd keep it.
Build and trainer
Leveling talents aren't level 60 talents. While leveling, you're your own tank and healer, so defensive and recovery talents beat an extra percent of damage.
The Legacy perk "Thrill of Adventure" gives back up to 5% health and mana after you kill a mob that gives XP.
New ranks show up every 2 levels, but not every trip to the trainer is worth it. Check what you'll actually get, and don't fly to a capital for a rank that barely changes anything.
People
Buff someone who's passing by, and they'll probably return the favor.
Elite quests go faster with a partner, and on PvP servers it's a lot safer too.
Speed
Use Charge on mobs along the way. It comes back quickly and cuts down on walking.
✦
Leveling talents
Pick a build for 10-30 and follow its point order
You'll get your first talent point at 10 and have 21 by 30. I'd start with Arms and a two-hander, though the beta recommendations disagree. Icy Veins and Method favor Arms. Mobalytics favors Protection and a shield for less recovery time. Beta players often praise Fury and Prot while complaining about Arms rage. Reset with Sorek in Orgrimmar or Torm Ragetotem in Thunder Bluff. Beta resets cost 1 if you haven't reset recently. At launch, expect 1 gold or more. I'd keep that money for training by settling on a tree early. Hover a talent for its tooltip. The calculator button opens the same build and point order.
Arms: Two-Handermain21 / 0 / 0Bleeds, opening rage, and Anger Management by 20. Icy Veins and Method recommend this two-hander route. Further down the tree, Mortal Strike arrives at 40.
At 30, Sweeping Strikes lets you hit two mobs together (it requires level 30). Using an axe? You can take Weaponmaster 1/5 for +1% crit and finish the remaining ranks after 30.
Arms needs more recovery time than Prot. Rage starvation was a common beta complaint. Use Bloodrage on cooldown when your health allows it, and let white swings finish dying mobs.
Icy Veins offers another order. Take Improved Overpower 2/2 at 15-16 instead of Improved Charge, then Spearing Strike at 25. I'd be cautious with that last choice. Beta players call it a trap because its strong matchup is limited to giants, dragons, and mounted enemies.
Protection: Shield and Revengewith a shield0 / 0 / 21A one-hander and shield keep recovery time down and leave you ready to tank. This is Mobalytics' main recommendation and Method's solo option.
The slow part is getting to 14-16, before you have Revenge and Shield Block. A two-hander kills faster then. Mobalytics suggests Arms until 15 and a respec at 16. This order stays in Prot throughout, so you won't need that reset.
Cruelty, then Armsfast start16 / 5 / 05 points in Fury for crit, then Arms all the way to the Deep Wounds talent. Method's variant: in Forever crits feed you rage again.
Fury: Death WishFury0 / 21 / 0Steady rage and damage with a two-hander. Based on Icy Veins and Warcraft Tavern. Beta testers praise Fury more often than Arms.
Start with crit from Cruelty. Talent Unbridled Wrath gives a 60% chance of +1 rage a hit, while Lingering Rage delays rage decay by 8 seconds. You can reach the next mob with something left. At 20, Piercing Howl slows nearby enemies, handy for runners and PvP. Solo mobs keep hitting you, which makes the +10% damage from Enrage useful. At 30, Death Wish adds +20% damage for 30 seconds.
Destin Thriceforged : repair your weapon. Your next free upgrade is Worn Greatsword from Foul Matriarch[5]. If a vendor has a stronger weapon, weigh its price against the money you need for training.
Before level 10, dying costs very little: no Resurrection Sickness, just a little durability. Use a death skip to return from the den west of the grove (step).
Pull with Charge. Use Rend if the target will live long enough, and Heroic Strike only when you have rage to spare.
⚔︎ PvP
All of Zephras Isle is a sanctuary: there's no PvP here on any ruleset. Alliance Skyborne of the High Order quest nearby and kill the same mobs - whoever tags first gets the loot.
The Anchors of Zephras[2] didn't give credit before October 7. Still broken? Abandon it; it's worth 85 XP. Walk on Air stays useful: glide down island cliffs now, avoid lethal falls later.

The quest marker points to the Wetlands - that's a beta bug, he's in the Barrens.
Silithid Swarmers call a bunch of small adds - kill them first, and use Thunder Clap on the crowd. According to a beta report the soldiers respawn slowly - if you meet another player on this quest, invite them. Pillager too much for you? Abandon Wrongly Blamed, Justly Corrected[23]: at 29 you can handle him solo (step). Stepping Stones[24] leads to Stonetalon - you'll turn it in there.

On the way south - thunder lizards : 3 Thunder Lizard Blood, Enraged Thunder Lizards[18]. The Field of Giants : Silithid Creepers, Grubs and Swarmers - 5 Twitching Antennae, Trial at the Field of Giants[20]. Got the fifth one? Head straight back to Taurajo.
The antennae disappear 15 minutes after you loot them - don't get distracted by other objectives. Silithids walk in twos and threes: Thunder Clap and Cleave.
How to do this quest - Trial at the Field of Giants
The quest timer is 30 minutes, and each antenna lasts only 15, so collect all five in one go. The antennae drop from almost every silithid, even the larvae.
The easiest ones are the crawlers on the east side of the field . The swarmers call little critters, so it's better to go around them, and if you get caught, Thunder Clap the whole pack.
Take it only if you'll get a group for Razorfen Kraul by 29-30: Vial of Phlogiston only drops there (step). The rest is on the way: Smoky Iron Ingot (15) - in Stonetalon (step), Powdered Azurite (10) - in Hillsbrad (step), Iron Bar (10) - Mining 125 or the auction house. No group? Two rare elites roam here - a Venture Co. overseer and a foreman. Go around them. If the goblin dies, the quest fails: abandon Gerenzo's Orders[22] and take it again when he's back. Doesn't work the second time either? Abandon it and later turn in only Super Reaper 6000[21]. Skipping dungeons hurts a Warrior twice as much: Forsaken Greataxe from the Ruins is one of the best two-handers before 30. Without a group you'll fall about 2 levels behind (by an estimate from beta data, the dungeon quests at 22-29 are worth about 75 thousand experience): western Ashenvale, the Southern Barrens and the backup quests in Thousand Needles (step) cover part of it, and you'll make up the rest with mobs along the way.

Beta chases often end at a zone border, where the other player can disappear into a different layer. That's another copy of the zone. A border may help you escape, but chasing someone across it can waste your time.
According to beta data, the exact spot where Deathstalker Masoj stands is still being confirmed - follow the quest marker. South of the vantage point, in Dun Garok itself , there are level 28-30 dwarves, and the riflemen shoot from range: approach the vantage point from the north and don't go down.

The peaks, according to testers' comments: on the hills above Dun Garok , on the plateau above Durnholde , and above the yeti cave , not inside it. Level 33 mountain lions roam by the third one - approach carefully.

How to do this quest - The Affray
You have 10 minutes in total. The opponents come out one at a time, about every 15-20 seconds: in between you have time for Victory Rush and a quick bandage.
If it gets rough, run north off the island, over the hillock to the water: according to a Classic player's comment, the opponent drops off at the water and the quest does not fail.
When Big Will shows up, step away from the bars: according to the comments, he does not attack on his own. Bandage up, then Charge and fight.

Dungeons: what to pick up in advance
Quests offered far from the entrance, and how a Warrior tanks
In Forever, experience from dungeon mobs is lower, while dungeon quests give 2-3 times the experience of normal ones (even after the beta bonus was cut in half). Going in without quests makes little sense - collect them in advance, but not earlier than needed: quests "for later" clog your log. In a group a Warrior is either the tank or damage, and the weapon rewards from dungeons beat anything vendors sell.
Warrior tanking: the short version
Defensive Stance, a shield and threat
Your tanking stance is Defensive Stance: +80% threat (since November 2, was +30%) and -10% damage. A shield is a must: Shield Bash interrupts spells, and Shield Block (16) enables Revenge.
On a pack: Thunder Clap (up to 4 targets. Forever lowered its threat) and Demoralizing Shout (everything around you), then Sunder Armor on each target in turn. Mark the first kill with a skull.
The pull: Charge in Battle Stance, then straight into Defensive - from 14, Tactical Mastery keeps 10 rage. With the Vanguard talent (25, Protection), Charge works right in Defensive Stance. Pull casters around a corner - they'll come to you.
A mob ran off to the healer: Taunt (8-second cooldown in Forever), with Mocking Blow as a backup. If everything goes wrong - Challenging Shout (26).
You can also tank low-level dungeons with a two-hander in Defensive Stance, but always keep a shield in your bags. In Forever Sunder Armor generates threat based on attack power.

What to learn, what to hit with and how to keep your rage up - up to level 30
What changed in Forever: rage from auto-attacks now depends on weapon speed rather than damage, and auto-attack crits generate 100% more rage (since October 1). The October 8 fix to rage from damage taken should increase your rage income, according to Blizzard. Since October 15, Battle Shout affects the whole raid, damage taken no longer delays Slam, and Lingering Rage no longer prevents out-of-combat health regeneration. New trainer abilities: Tactical Mastery at 14, Victory Rush and Slam (Rank 1) at 20, and Berserker Rage at 30 instead of 32. Thunder Clap slows attack speed twice as much (20%), works in Defensive Stance and has a 6-second cooldown. Battle Shout grants 40% less attack power but lasts 3 minutes. Retaliation and Shield Wall have 15-minute cooldowns.
How to level. Keep Battle Shout up. Pull with Charge, apply Rend if the mob will live at least 6 seconds, then auto-attack. Use Heroic Strike only with excess rage. Hit Overpower whenever it lights up. Finish mobs at 10-15% health with autos to carry rage into the next pull. Fight same-level or lower mobs, one at a time: higher-level mobs cause plenty of misses in Forever. Against two, use Thunder Clap and, from 14, Demoralizing Shout. Both also hit enemies outside combat, so avoid them beside another pack. For a mob near a group, pull with Crude Throwing Axe or a bow (you already know the skill), then move back. Linked mobs will come together.
The stance and shield are confirmed rewards from The Skybreaker Bulwark[10]; check your spellbook and the training available from Seena Skybreaker for the other defensive abilities afterward.
Defensive Stance (10, quest): -10% damage taken and dealt, +80% threat (since November 2, was +30%). For dungeons and tough fights. In Forever Thunder Clap works in it.
Before 14, a stance switch burns your rage. Passive Tactical Mastery keeps 10 rage from 14, and talent Improved Tactical Mastery can keep up to 25. Check what you've learned before switching with a full bar.
26: Merciless Axe (21.1, +12 Strength) - Ott in Tarren Mill or Delgo Ragetotem in Thunder Bluff, about 3 gold. The best two-hander before 30 that you can buy.
Rage
Less waiting around
Use Bloodrage before a pull when you can afford the 20% base-health cost. Don't press it while nearly dead. Forever removed the combat-state wording from its tooltip, so Charge might work afterward. Check that interaction in game before relying on it.
At the mob's last 10-15% health, let white swings finish it. You want some rage for the next pull.
Your Heroic Strike replaces a white swing, which means that swing won't generate rage. Use it with a surplus, usually 30+, rather than queueing it constantly.
Use Sunder Armor 1-2 times in a long fight. After that it usually won't repay the rage. It also tags a mob immediately in Forever, as Rend does.
White crits give +100% rage, making crit and Cruelty more valuable than in Classic. Since October 8, a Priest shield absorbing damage doesn't reduce the rage from incoming attacks. Let the healer shield you.
How not to die
Your racial, bandages and healing after a kill
Learn First Aid from Rawrk in Razor Hill or Arnok in Orgrimmar. Bandages restore health faster than food, but you can't use both together. Pick the recovery window before starting.
From 20, use Victory Rush within 20 seconds of a kill that gives experience. It restores 10% health and has a 30-second cooldown. Gray mobs won't enable it. That heal plus 10 seconds of bandaging can often replace a food stop.
Keep a one-hander and shield for Shield Bash, your cast interrupt. At 28, Shield Wall also needs the shield equipped and Defensive Stance. Owning a good two-hander isn't a reason to vendor your backup set.
Recover with food or bandages between fights. Skyborne have no racial heal. Refresh the Charged buff at an Elemental Convergence (Skysight gives +30% with it) and use it on long runs.
Optional, 21-30: Brutal Armor[30] → Brutal Hauberk[30] - the mail Brutal Hauberk (+5 Strength, +14 Stamina, 30 rage on use). You need a group for Razorfen Kraul, materials from Stonetalon kobolds and Hillsbrad miners, and 10 Iron Bars (step).
Talents 10-30
4 builds with a talent tree and the order by level
I'd use Arms with a two-hander as the default, reaching Anger Management at 20 and Sweeping Strikes at 30. Protection, Cruelty followed by Arms, and Fury offer the alternatives.
What to take, where to learn it and what to collect - up to level 30
Warrior pick: Mining + Blacksmithing, with First Aid and Cooking. Blacksmithing makes sharpening stones (Rough Sharpening Stone: +2 weapon damage for 30 minutes), an easy damage boost, and two-handed axes: Copper Battle Axe requires level 8, but Skyborne must first learn Two-Handed Axes from Sayoc in Orgrimmar (first visit). Bronze Battle Axe gives +10 Strength from 22. Alternative: Mining + Skinning for more gold toward your level-40 mount.
Apprentice - up to 75. Journeyman - from skill 50, up to 150. Expert - from skill 125, up to 225.
Camping (new in Forever)official
Unlock camping on the island: The Adventurer[6] → The Great Outdoors[6], Raan Wildwind . After resting at the fire, accept your profession quests. You can learn Cooking while speaking to its quest trainer.
Camp buffs last an hour: the Blacksmithing grindstone (+Strength), the Mining lodestone (+attack power), the Skinning camp stool (+2% crit), the First Aid kit (+Stamina). They don't stack with similar class buffs. The exact item names in the client may differ.
Sit by any campfire for a minute, even someone else's - you get a buff for an hour.
Cooking and First Aid
In Forever any cooked food gives +5% experience from kills for 15 minutes - always eat. Icy Veins recommends Strength food for Warriors.
In Forever, First Aid also makes healing potions. Bandages: Linen Bandage from linen, from skill 40 - Heavy Linen Bandage, then wool ones.
Sell gray items at every stop. Ore and cloth go to the Orgrimmar auction house.
Don't buy a weapon from a vendor if a quest one is 1-2 levels away (the list is in the "Warrior" section).
Aim for about 10 gold saved by level 30: riding at 40 will most likely cost about 100 gold, as in Classic.

What's new in Forever
Only what matters for this route
Beta data (build 1.60.1, as of October 16, 2026, beta level cap 30): the Wowhead Forever database, Blizzard patch notes, the Questie database and the RestedXP route for Forever. Things may change before the November 4 launch.
What stayed the samebeta data
The old Durotar, Orgrimmar and Barrens quests are all still there, with the same coordinates, and the experience needed per level hasn't changed.
Skyborne have their own quest, The Skybreaker Bulwark[10], rewarding Defensive Stance and shield Stormforged Protector. At 20 and 30, the route uses shared Horde chains. Levels and racial availability were checked against Forever Questie.
No new flight paths for the Horde in 1-30. The hearthstone is once an hour.
Mounts still come at level 40.
Zephras Isle and Orgrimmarbeta data
The island story leads from Thendal Grove through Shen'dar and Valanaar to the Shrine of Akir. Finishing it rewards gear your class can use.
Weapon skill is still there, and the racial weapon skill bonuses were replaced with crit.
Skyborne racialsbeta data
Wind Blessed: +2% attack and casting speed (raised to 3% on October 15, cut back to 2% on October 26).
Skysight: +15% movement speed for 15 seconds, +30% with the Charged buff from an Elemental Convergence. Charged lasts an hour and persists through death. A 0.5-second cast and 2-minute cooldown.
Walk on Air: glide for 10 seconds, with a 1.5-minute cooldown. Activate after jumping for a safe landing.
Rulesets to choose from: "Normal" - PvP only if you want it (/pvp). "PvP" - your flag turns on by itself in contested and enemy zones. "RP" - same as Normal.
Horde territory on the 1-20 route: Durotar and the Barrens. Contested: Stonetalon (from 18), then Hillsbrad, Ashenvale and Thousand Needles.
Battlegrounds: Warsong Gulch from 10, Arathi Basin from 20, the new Darkspear Islands (15 vs 15) from 30. On the beta, according to testers, only the level 30 battleground is open.
Cooked food gives +5% experience from kills. Camping buffs, the tent and the sleeping bag.
Dungeon quests give 2-3 times the experience of normal ones.
There's no automatic dungeon finder - only the bulletin board, and meeting stones don't summon.
The Legacy system: account-wide bonuses unlock once your first character reaches 25.

Tips and common mistakes
The hearthstone, dangerous mobs, what not to forget
Island hearths: Thendal Grove → Shen'dar → Valanaar. Once in the Barrens, use the Crossroads until the 20-30 part.
~22.6 - Undercity: hearth from Hillsbrad to the trainer and the zeppelin. ~27.5 - Splintertree Post: from Zoram'gar back to the Foulweald. ~29.7 - Freewind Post: from Fray Island back to Thousand Needles.
For short distances - a death run. Almost free until level 10. From 11 - "Resurrection Sickness" and -25% durability.
Stonetalon: Grimtotem casters, the elite Besseleth (without a partner - at 27), rare Venture Co. Elites at Windshear Crag, Sorrow Wing and Sister Riven.
Hillsbrad: the Syndicate shadow Mages in Durnholde. Ashenvale: Keeper Ordanus with two guards, Eck'alom. At 30 - Big Will (33).
Common mistakes
Compare new weapons by damage and stats. The island reward Empyrean Greatsword lasts until your next substantial upgrade. A vendor axe needs weapon training from Sayoc .
