A pet at 10 changes how you handle the rest of Teldrassil. This Night Elf Hunter route continues through Darkshore, then crosses to Redridge, Duskwood, and the Wetlands by 30. We'll keep your bow, arrows, pet food, and pet skills up to date. The main path is solo, with group chapters available when you want them.
Updated November 4, 2026 for Blizzard's November 2 changes: new Beast Mastery and Survival-lite orders (Pathfinding moved to row 3), a shared trap cooldown and stronger shots.

Addons
What to install from CurseForge for Forever: the useful and the fun
Maps inside dungeons:Dungeon Crawler Forever shows floors, passages, bosses and quests. Open it with /dm. Its data changes with the beta: double-check quest requirements in game. More conveniences, screenshots and highlight commands - in the useful addons guide.
How to install. In the CurseForge app, add the game with the “+” button and point it to your Forever client folder - a Forever tab appears. Manually on the beta: the _classic_beta_\Interface\AddOns folder. Addons for regular Classic won't work - you need a file marked Forever (1.60.1). ★ - our pick.
Already in the game - no addon needed: coordinates on the map and minimap (turn them on in the settings), quest objectives on the map (the “Enhanced” template at first login, or the quest objectives option), a damage meter, a swing timer, the Cooldown Manager, one combined bag, an equipment manager and a modern auction house. Not in the game: a threat meter, markers for quests you haven't picked up yet, and a /way command.
Quests and map
★ Questie - who gives quests and where the objectives are, on the map and minimap. It still lacks some of the new Forever quests.
★ TomTom - an arrow to a point. The coordinates on this site copy as a /way command for it.
★ Leatrix Maps - reveals unexplored parts of the map, shows dungeon entrances, and the map can be enlarged.
Forever Quest Tint - tints the text of new Forever quests, so you see at a glance what's new.
Conveniences
★ Leatrix Plus - auto quest turn-in, junk selling, repairs, fast loot and dozens of small things. There's a separate version for Forever.
★ Baganator - proper bags and bank: the built-in combined bag can't be moved. A similar one - Bagnon.
★ Auctionator - posts auctions quickly, remembers prices and shows them in tooltips.
★ Platynator - draws neat bars above mobs and marks the ones you need for a quest. Very handy while leveling.
Professions
★ GatherLite - herbs, ore and fish on the map: it already ships with more than 26 thousand points made for Forever.
GatherMate2 - the same, but it only remembers points as you gather them yourself.
For fun: voiceover and dialogue
★ Spoken - English voiceover for quests, books and zones. On the Forever forums it gets the most praise: “like an audiobook”. More in the addons guide.
★ Immersion - movie-style NPC dialogue instead of the usual quest window.
Optional
Details! or ThreatClassic2 - threat in dungeons: the built-in damage meter doesn't show it.
Easy Experience Bar - experience per hour and how much is left to the next level.
Dungeon Journal - dungeon quests and loot: Forever has no dungeon journal of its own.
WeakAuras has no Forever version; use the fork ForeverAuras instead (it can do what the built-in Cooldown Manager sees).
For mail, instead of Postal try Forever Mail: recipient picker, mail history and attachment lists. More in the general addons guide.
Zygor and ElvUI aren't installed through CurseForge.
Combat “helpers” that do calculations are banned in Forever, as in the modern game: addons may display, but not calculate.
For hunters
Hunter's Field Guide: a Forever beast and skill reference. Use it to find rank teachers, then inspect the current target with Beast Lore.
Feed Pet: Forever: pet happiness and feeding reminders. Choose the Forever file when installing.
Scope: an ammo counter. It reminds you about your supply, but does not buy arrows for you.
⏱︎
How not to lose hours while leveling
Small things about your route, mobs, mana, and speed that add up to hours over a whole leveling run
Route
Running around eats roughly a third of all leveling time. So grab quests in bundles and finish them in one trip, with at least two or three objectives close together on the map.
Don't be afraid to drop a quest with a rare drop, an NPC who isn't there, or an objective on the far side of the zone. Leave escorts for the end of the loop, since they usually run through the same mobs the nearby quests need.
Heading to the next spot with full mana and health? Kill mobs on the way. You regenerate anyway, and a couple of extra mobs on every run adds up to hours by the end.
While a mob is dying, start walking to the next one. Finish off the last few percent with auto attacks or a wand instead of a big spell.
Which mobs
Green mobs die fast and are barely a threat, but in Forever they give 4-20% less XP than in Classic. Blizzard says that's intended. Look at XP per hour, not at the color.
Yellow and green mobs are a fine pick. Orange and red ones are almost always worse. There's no XP penalty, but you miss more, fights drag on, and your mana and health melt faster. The one exception is elite group quests, if you've got a group.
Supplies and timing
Always carry food and water, or you'll get stuck in the middle of a mob camp with empty bars. Addons that auto-sell gray items and auto-repair at a vendor save time too.
Use your Hearthstone and long-cooldown abilities on cooldown, not "for later." The perfect moment might never come.
Spirit is useful for everyone while leveling, because you spend less time sitting between fights. Got an item with Spirit that's a bit weaker on other stats? I'd keep it.
Build and trainer
Leveling talents aren't level 60 talents. While leveling, you're your own tank and healer, so defensive and recovery talents beat an extra percent of damage.
The Legacy perk "Thrill of Adventure" gives back up to 5% health and mana after you kill a mob that gives XP.
New ranks show up every 2 levels, but not every trip to the trainer is worth it. Check what you'll actually get, and don't fly to a capital for a rank that barely changes anything.
People
Buff someone who's passing by, and they'll probably return the favor.
Elite quests go faster with a partner, and on PvP servers it's a lot safer too.
DoTs
The free addon Does It Die shows whether the DoTs already ticking will finish the mob. If they will, a skull shows up on the target's portrait and you can move on to the next one. It's made for Forever, and the settings are under /did.
Speed
From 20, keep Aspect of the Cheetah up while traveling and swap to Aspect of the Hawk for fights.
✦
Following the route
Main route: Teldrassil → Darkshore → direct boat to Stormwind → Redridge → Duskwood → Ironforge and Loch Modan → Wetlands → finish Duskwood at 30. Group chapters are marked optional and are not needed to complete the main chains.
Reach the next chapter's minimum level first. Short on XP? Finish green quests in the current loop or kill isolated beasts around your level. XP gains depend on rested bonus, grouping and pace; a chapter heading does not guarantee a full level.
Collect quest items after accepting their quest. Ordinary meat, cloth and profession materials can be saved beforehand. Before a long loop, restock arrows, pet food and water, and leave bag space for loot.
✦
Leveling talents
Builds for 10-30: which one to pick and in what order to spend points
Start spending talents at 10 and you'll have 21 points at 30. I'd let Beast Mastery do the heavy lifting on a first run. The pet holds the target while you get room to shoot. The other builds change how you fight, while the route stays the same. Jocaste in Darnassus and Einris Brightspear in Stormwind handle respecs, starting at 1 gold at launch. These orders use the tree after Blizzard's November 2 changes.
Beast Mastery: let the pet workmain21 / 0 / 0Your pet takes hits and deals a large share of the damage, with some of your stats passed on in Forever. At 25, you also get the new Summon Hawk talent.
Pros.Deadly Aspects speeds up Auto Shot by 30% from time to time while Aspect of the Hawk is on. The new Focused Fire adds +2% damage for you and your pet. Pathfinding at 29-30 (it moved to row 3 on November 2) boosts Aspect of the Cheetah: 36% speed instead of 30%, so the whole route to 40 goes faster. Unleashed Fury gives +15% pet damage, the main leveling talent.
At 25-30, Summon Hawk joins your pet. The hawk attacks the target for 18 seconds, and you can keep two up. Summon Hawk and Arcane Shot share a cooldown, so you can't use them independently. Then Ferocity 3/5 at 26-28 gives your pet and hawks more crit. After 30, finish it to 5/5: it opens Frenzy at 35.
Swaps. If your pet dies often, take Improved Revive Pet at 29-30 instead of Pathfinding. It suits careful play and Hardcore. At 30, instead of the second point of Pathfinding, you can take Spirit Bond if you often eat between fights: rank 1 restores 1% health to you and your pet every 10 seconds. Short on mana? There's Bestial Discipline.
Cons: if your pet dies, half your damage is gone. Watch its health and hit Mend Pet in time.
Marksmanship: shoot with a petmarksman0 / 21 / 0Put more damage into your own shots through crit, Intellect-based attack power, and a stronger shot after a kill. Warcraft Tavern and wow.gg recommend this approach.
Lethal Attacks adds +5% crit, which also benefits the pet through Forever's full crit inheritance. Careful Aim converts Intellect into attack power. With Rapid Killing, the next shot after a kill hits 20% harder. Keep Efficiency in the plan for cheaper shots. Marksmanship can drain your mana quickly.
I'd keep the pet for solo questing. Lone Wolf opens at 20 with 11 points spent and gives +20% damage without one, but you'll want a regular tank for that. Beta players have found the talent underwhelming.
Cons: your pet hits softer than in Beast Mastery, and your mana drains faster.
Survival: track your targetscareful8 / 0 / 13Less damage, but you and your pet are sturdier. For Hardcore, weak gear and higher-level mobs.
Pros.Improved Tracking adds +5% damage of all kinds against the creature type you track. Without matching tracking there's no bonus. Endurance Training makes your pet 15% tougher, and Survivalist adds +10% health. At 22-23, Deflection 2/5 adds parry chance: Pathfinding moved to row 3 on November 2 and no longer fits here. At 30 you get Deterrence: 10 seconds of dodge and parry to survive a hard fight.
Change tracking with the quest. Track Beasts covers beasts, Track Humanoids covers humanoids, and Track Undead covers undead from 18. The damage bonus needs the right tracking active.
Cons: noticeably less damage than Beast Mastery: Unleashed Fury and the hawks don't fit into this build.
Survival: meleefor later0 / 0 / 21Forever gives Survival a two-handed melee approach. Before 30, I'd still choose Beast Mastery for easier leveling. Pick this if you're keen to learn the spec you'll use at 60.
Early melee can feel thin on buttons. Beta players report that ranged attacks still do more damage before Aspect of the Beast at 30 and a worthwhile two-hander. Train its skill before using it. There's a two-handed sword option in the optional Nek'rosh branch.
⚔︎Questing loop: “Iverron's Antidote” and “Webwood Egg”
◎
Gather 7 mushrooms and 4 lilies in the valley, loot spider ichor, and collect the egg from Webwood Eggs inside the cave for Iverron's Antidote[4] and Webwood Egg[5].
Jeena Featherbow : Hornwood Recurve Bow from 3, ≈ 3. Still using your starting bow? Compare DPS if you have money left after training. Skip a second quiver with the same starting stats.
⚔︎Questing loop: “Zenn's Bidding” and “Soft Saber Pelts”
◎
East of Dolanaar, gather 3 fangs, 3 feathers and 3 spider silks, then loot 6 soft hides from ordinary Nightsabers for Zenn's Bidding[5] and Soft Saber Pelts[7].
Choose the Hunter quiver Ban'ethil Quiver. It has 10 slots and +10% attack speed, matching your starting quiver's speed but holding more arrows. Skip Medium Quiver, which has the same stats.
Tame a spider, cat and owl with the training item, then finish your class training in the capital.

Start once you actually reach 10. Free a slot for the Taming Rod and turn in each stage before the next tame.

Jeena Featherbow : Sharp Arrow from 10. Check the stack price. Switch to this arrow rank at 10. In Dolanaar, the weapon vendor sells them; do not assume every supplies vendor does.
Jocaste : train available level 10 abilities. Silvaria : check pet training and Growl. Before leaving, buy meat from Jaeana in Darnassus, Haunch of Meat (≈ 24). Tame a permanent beast no higher than your level, feed it suitable food and enable Growl autocast.
A Teldrassil cat makes a convenient first companion: meat and fish are easy to restock. Do not assume one beast knows every ability rank; check learned skills separately.
➜
Continue east along the road to Dolanaar. Save your Hearthstone for the Oracle Glade. Stay on the island; northern Teldrassil comes next.
lvl 10-12
Northern Teldrassil and the Oracle Glade
Your pet now holds enemies. Finish northern chains and get a bow reward before leaving for the mainland.
⚔︎Questing loop: “The Enchanted Glade”, “Tumors” and “Crown of the Earth”
◎
Near the Oracle Glade, gather 6 harpy belts, loot 5 tumors from tougher timberlings, and fill the Amethyst Phial at the moonwell for The Enchanted Glade[11], Tumors[9] and Crown of the Earth[11].
Drops from:Bloodfeather Belt - Bloodfeather Harpy, Bloodfeather Rogue, Bloodfeather Sorceress and others · Mossy Tumor - Timberling Trampler, Timberling Mire Beast, Elder Timberling
Finish the timberling quests, learn pet care and unlock the flight to the mainland.

Boats have different destinations. You need Auberdine here; from 19-20, take the direct Auberdine-Stormwind boat. Do not board the return boat to Teldrassil.
Jaeana : Haunch of Meat from 5, ≈ 24. Cats eat meat or fish; check another family's diet on its happiness icon. Jaeana : Ice Cold Milk from 5, ≈ 24. Keep water to recover mana after healing your pet.
Silvaria : train Growl. Alassin : stable your main pet before temporarily taming a beast to learn its skill.
Follow the road back to Darnassus. Finish training and shopping before sailing.
✦
Darnassus
For a permanent pet, consider Strigid Hunter in Teldrassil: the Forever database lists Claw Rank 2 on this owl. It is level 8-9, so you can tame it at 10+. Owls eat meat; Jaeana sells Haunch of Meat. Cats eat meat and fish.
Stable your main pet before temporarily taming another beast. Once you learn its skill, teach it to a compatible pet through Beast Training. Simply fighting alongside someone else's cat does not teach you anything.
Vesprystus : unlock the route and fly to Auberdine. If the flight is unavailable, take the Rut'theran → Auberdine boat; check its destination at the dock.
Laird : Longjaw Mud Snapper from 5, ≈ 4. Fish for your cat from 5; owls do not eat it. Stock up on meat for your owl in Darnassus or from suitable loot.
Jaelysia : Auberdine's stable. There is no full city Hunter training here; the route returns to a trainer at 16.
◈ Loot along the way
Keep ordinary beast meat for Cooking and pet food. Fish-related quest remains do not count as normal pet food.
Anaya Dawnrunner is 16 while you are 13. Start with full health and mana. If you cannot beat her, keep the quest; you pass the ruins again on the southern loop (step) and can turn it in in Auberdine (step).
◎
Defeat Jai'vhanel at the foot of the mountains north of Ameth'Aran and loot the feather for WANTED: Jai'vhanel[13].
Drops from:Feather of Jai'vhanel - Jai'vhanel

◎
Fill the supplied sampling tube in Cliffspring River by the northeastern waterfall for The Cliffspring River[15].
◎
In the cave near Cliffspring Falls, gather five Scaber Stalks and one Death Cap for Cave Mushrooms[17]. Nagas are 15-17; Twilight's Hammer mobs by the Death Cap are 17-18. Pull individually and refill health before heading deeper.
Do not jump between ledges with your pet active; it may path through uncleared rooms.
↩Head back: turn in 5 quests and pick up 4 new ones
⚔︎Questing loop: “Buzzbox 525” and “A Lost Master”
◎
Loot 4 Grizzled Scalps from Grizzled Thistle Bears in the southern woods for Buzzbox 525[16].
Drops from:Grizzled Scalp - Grizzled Thistle Bear, Den Mother
◎
➜≈ 250 yards south · ~30 s on foot
Only two moonstalker types drop these hides: Moonstalker Sire (17-18) and Moonstalker Matriarch (19-20). The closest are near the Grove of the Ancients, , and the Master's Glaive, . Pull Matriarchs one at a time for A Lost Master[20].
Caylais Moonfeather : fly to Rut'theran, then take the portal to Darnassus. Jocaste : at 16, check Immolation Trap, Mongoose Bite and spell ranks. Silvaria : pet skills. Buy a bow and meat for your owl in town, then return the same way to Auberdine.

Darkshore: the final regular quests
Prepare the ritual and bear den first, then visit the northern shore. Elites and underwater rare targets are optional.

Ariyell Skyshadow : Reinforced Bow from 16, ≈ 38, with 7.50 DPS. Buy during the planned Darnassus visit; avoid a long return trip for a tiny upgrade.
Dalmond : Sharp Arrow from 10. Check the stack price and fill your quiver before leaving; there is nowhere to restock arrows in the field.
⚔︎Questing loop: “The Blackwood Corrupted” and “Tharnariun's Hope”
◎
Prepare the cleansed water, gather food in Blackwood camps, begin the ritual and loot the talisman when the demon appears for The Blackwood Corrupted[18].
Do not spend ritual items before you are ready to summon. Let your pet build threat; bring a partner if the summon is too hard.
◎
➜≈ 900 yards east · ~2 min on foot
Den Mother waits in a cave northeast of Auberdine, . Clear ordinary bears at the entrance first for Tharnariun's Hope[18].
Den Mother is 18-19 while you are 16-17. Start with full health and mana and let your pet tank her. If you cannot beat her, return before sailing (step).
➜
Follow the northern road to the camp near the Tower of Althalaxx.
Collect the three key parts from Foreststriders, coastal crabs and murlocs along the northern coast for Gyromast's Retrieval[20]. Crabs and murlocs here are 18-21; pull one at a time.
Drops from:Top of Gelkak's Key - Giant Foreststrider · Middle of Gelkak's Key - Greymist Raider, Greymist Coastrunner, Greymist Seer and others · Bottom of Gelkak's Key - Encrusted Tide Crawler, Raging Reef Crawler
Choose the stealth option rather than the alternative combat chain. Avoid attacking nearby mobs or sending your pet after runners.
➜
If you are not 19 yet, finish remaining green Darkshore quests and kill safe beasts, saving meat and hides. The next main loop is intended for 19-20. Then return to Auberdine.
Naela Trance : Fine Longbow from 14, ≈ 49. You reach Menethil Harbor later, at 25-27. This level 14 bow has 7.4 DPS, almost the same as Reinforced Bow if you already bought it; usually not worth the money.
The Price of Shoes[18] sends you to Goldshire's blacksmith. Combine that flight with Stormwind training; avoid a second trip.

Incisors for Razormaw Needling[29] drop at Raptor Ridge northeast of the Green Belt, not at the excavation.
Lifting the Curse[30]: the captain is aboard a ship, the deck is cramped, and mobs respawn behind you. Bring a partner if possible.

Raptor's End: 12.07 DPS, +2 Agility and +2 Stamina. Compare it with a purchased Sturdy Recurve, which has more DPS but no Agility. The alternative, Raptorbane Armor, fills an armor slot; you cannot take both it and the bow from one turn-in.

✦
Hunter: combat, range and training
Give Auto Shot about 0.5 seconds standing still after the October 15 changes. You can move between shots, but stop for the next one. The beta version covered here also keeps Auto Shot running during Aimed Shot.
Before your pet
Starting kit: Worn Shortbow, Worn Dagger, Light Quiver and arrows. Night Elf Hunters already know Bows, Daggers, Leather and Cloth. You cannot use Shields or Maces, or equip Mail before 40.
Open from range with Auto Shot and Arcane Shot; Serpent Sting is better on longer fights. If an enemy is already in melee, Raptor Strike and finishing it off are often safer than running into another camp.
Concussive Shot helps you make space from 8. Add Wing Clip for a melee slow at 12. Look behind you before backing away. A patrol can turn a safe kite into another pull.
After 10
Send your pet in, let it land a few hits, then shoot. Keep Growl autocast enabled while solo.
Watch the pet's health while you're shooting. Mend Pet uses your mana to heal it, so begin before it's nearly dead. A pull that's already too large calls for bringing the pet back and leaving.
Use Hunter's Mark and Serpent Sting according to fight length. Do not spend all your mana on a mob that needs one more Auto Shot.
Traps and danger
Place Immolation Trap at your feet from 16 for extra damage. Freezing Trap from 20 lets you take an add out temporarily. You can place traps in combat in Forever.
Since November 2, all traps share one 30-second cooldown, so you can no longer drop a fire trap and a frost trap back to back. Damage over time on an enemy can break freezing CC.
Travel with Aspect of the Cheetah from 20, then change aspects before a mob hits you. Getting dazed while trying to run through a camp is a painful way to lose the time you saved.
From 30, Feign Death is an emergency option. Account for resists and your pet's position; it is not a guaranteed escape from every fight.
Dungeons
With a tank in the group, turn Growl autocast off. Check the CC mark before using Multi-Shot. The extra shot can break the control holding the pull together.
Dismiss your pet before jumping off a ledge; otherwise it can take the long way through corridors and pull enemies. Call it again after landing safely.
Let the tank gather the enemies. Shoot the tank's target. Restock food, arrows and water before the group forms.
Do not buy every ability just because it appears in the list. Prioritize core shots, healing and pet control, then situational abilities. Check prices and discounts in your client. Do not leave the trainer without enough gold for arrows.
✦
Your pet: choosing and keeping a companion
Taming and food
The level 10 training chain uses three different Taming Rods on three specific beasts. Get your permanent pet after completing Training the Beast[10]; its level cannot be higher than yours.
An easy first option is Strigid Hunter, a level 8-9 Strigid Hunter. The Forever database lists Claw Rank 2 on it. Owls eat meat; Jaeana in Darnassus sells Haunch of Meat from 5 and Mutton Chop from 15.
Cats eat meat and fish. In Auberdine, Laird sells Longjaw Mud Snapper from 5 and Bristle Whisker Catfish from 15. Berries, bread and cheese from an elven inn are not substitutes for meat when feeding an owl.
Use Feed Pet out of combat. Check the happiness icon and your beast's diet; food must suit its family and level. After a death, use Revive Pet, then restore health and happiness.
Learn attacks such as Claw from temporarily tamed beasts. Stable your main pet first, tame a beast that knows the skill, wait until you learn it, then teach it to your compatible main pet through Beast Training.
Claw Rank 2 requires pet level 8, Rank 3 requires 16, and Rank 4 requires 24. You also need training points; your own level does not automatically upgrade your pet's attack.
Some beasts' ability ranks changed after October 15. From 24, Beast Lore helps check a target's skills. Before then, use the Forever database rather than Classic Era tables.
Cats can learn Bite and Claw; owls can learn Claw. Avoid spending gold and time looking for an incompatible ability.
Dismiss Pet temporarily puts your pet away; Call Pet brings it back. You do not need to permanently Abandon it from the portrait menu for an ordinary swap. Use a stable.
In caves, use Passive or Defensive and assign targets manually. A chasing pet must not pull the next pack.
The bird-of-prey family ability differs from Classic Screech in Forever. After the October 15 fix, its disarm lasts 3 seconds on a 90-second cooldown. Do not rely on the old 4-second duration and 60-second cooldown.
✦
Gear 1-30: bows, arrows and leather
For the main ranged build, prioritize a higher-DPS ranged weapon, current arrows and a suitable quiver. Then look for Agility, Stamina and useful attack power. Strength alone does not improve your shots. Your melee weapon usually supplies stats; do not buy one instead of a meaningful bow upgrade.
Naela Trance in Menethil Harbor: the first is level 14 with 7.4 DPS; the second is level 20 with 9.17. If you already have Reinforced Bow, the first is barely an upgrade.
Ormer's Revenge[29] in Wetlands: kill the required raptors, then Sarltooth. 12.07 DPS, +2 Agility and Stamina. If you bought Sturdy Recurve, weigh the DPS loss against the Agility gain.
The Night Watch[30] awards a 12-slot quiver with +11% attack speed for the final Night Watch quest. Marda Weller in Stormwind sells Heavy Quiver from 30: 14 slots and +12% attack speed, ≈ 20. Compare before buying.
Ammunition
Rough Arrow from 1: +1.5 DPS. Sharp Arrow from 10: +3.5. Razor Arrow from 25: +7.5. Stock up in stacks of 200, checking your free quiver slots.
Guns use Heavy Shot from 10 or Solid Shot from 25. Switching from a bow requires Guns training and bullets; crossbows still use arrows. Bring compatible ammunition to a dungeon.
With a group in Blackfathom Deeps, Naga Heartpiercer and Fallenroot Longbow may be useful. These are boss drops, not guaranteed rewards for one run.
Before a major gun or crossbow upgrade, compare it with your bow and the training cost. Level a new weapon skill on safe enemies before fighting bosses.
Avoid spending your entire budget on a rare Auction House item. Leave enough for training, pet food and ammo.
✦
Professions, bandages and loot
Gold along the way
A practical choice is Skinning plus another gathering profession. Skinning works well with the many beasts in Teldrassil and Darkshore.
Eladriel in Darnassus: Skinning. Buy a knife from a supplies vendor before leaving. Ordinary hides are different from quest hides.
Leatherworking can replace your second gathering profession if you'd like to craft armor. Mining and Engineering offer gadgets and guns, but need gold to level. You'll also need weapon training before using a gun.
Keep linen and wool for bandages. Sell excess cloth only after restocking. Bandages heal without mana, but damage interrupts them.
At a skill cap, check your next training rank or book. Deneb Walker in Stromgarde sells Expert First Aid - Under Wraps; this is a long separate trip, optional for the 1-30 route.
Cooking and pet food
Alegorn in Darnassus and Stephen Ryback in Stormwind: Cooking. Cook some beast meat and keep some for pet food.
Owls eat meat; cats eat meat and fish. Check the diet even when a food item restores plenty of player health.
Cooked food in Forever can grant an XP buff for leveling. Check the specific dish for its effect and duration; it is not a permanent bonus from every piece of raw meat.
✦
Dungeons and independent group branches
The solo route doesn't depend on dungeon runs. Its four group branches cover the Redridge keep, Stockade with Dun Modr, Nek'rosh, and the late Duskwood bosses. Choose whichever fits your party. You don't need a quest from one branch to unlock another.
Eliza and Stalvan follow completed main chains. Stalvan is level 32 and tougher than regular mobs; meeting the minimum quest level does not make the fight safe.
No group? Leave these follow-ups and go to level 30 training. The main quests will be complete.
✦
Night Elf racials
Hiding and surviving
Shadowmeld requires standing still. In the current beta, it works in combat with a 2-minute cooldown, or 10 seconds out of combat. Moving breaks the effect.
Shadowmeld stops enemies attacking your hidden character. It doesn't promise to clear all threat, and the pet or another party member can keep the fight going. Check their positions before moving out of it.
Quickness: +1% dodge and +2% movement speed. Since October 15, the speed bonus stacks with other movement effects.
A damage boost and a faster return
Elune's Light: +10% attack and spell crit chance for 15 seconds, on a 3-minute cooldown. Use it on a hard target after your pet has built threat.
Wisp Spirit: your spirit moves faster after death. It speeds up the corpse run; it does not make dying in combat free transport.
Druid and Rogue stealth passives do not transfer to a Hunter just because the race is the same.
✦
What changes in Forever
This route uses racial and class data from beta 1.60.1 rather than simply copying Classic Era. Changes were checked against official notes through October 15, 2026; rules may still change before launch.
Darkshore and the Eastern Kingdoms route also include new quests. Their objectives and NPCs appear directly in the steps. Avoid substituting similar old items for new quest items.
Hunter and pet
From 20, learn Aimed Shot from the trainer; it's no longer a Classic talent. Traps can be placed in combat. Since November 2, all traps share one 30-second cooldown, so you can no longer drop a fire trap and a frost trap back to back.
Your pet inherits some Hunter stats. Since the October 15 fix, inherited crit uses the higher of melee or ranged crit chance.
Tameable beasts, family abilities and ranks differ from Era. Use the Forever pet database and check the target's current tooltip.
This route uses the official beta notes, Petopia Forever, client 1.60.1.70425, and the local QuestieDB Forever export. Those sources don't replace a continuous in-game run. Check limited vendor stock when you visit.
✦
Hearthstone, PvP and common mistakes
Saving time
Hearthstone: Dolanaar first, then Auberdine, briefly Stormwind, Darkshire for the main loop, Menethil Harbor in Wetlands, and Darkshire again for the finale. Rebinding means you can no longer Hearthstone to the old town.
Unlock flight paths on your first visit. If a route is unavailable, your network is not connected yet. Travel the missing intermediate stretch first.
Ask where the boat is going before boarding. For the tram, check which capital you're in when you get off. Call the pet back before leaving either kind of transport.
Careful in contested zones
Redridge, Duskwood and Wetlands can bring you into contact with the other faction. Avoid Aggressive pet mode near neutral NPCs and other players.
Concussive Shot, Wing Clip and a frost trap help create distance. From 30, Feign Death is available, but does not guarantee an escape from a player.
Save Elune's Light until you have a good shooting position. Survive and move away from extra mobs first.
Mistakes to avoid
Treating the training beast as permanent and skipping Training the Beast[10].
Feeding an owl fish or berries, or forgetting food and arrows before a long trip.
Buying another +10% quiver just for a green name when your quest quiver already holds the same number of arrows.
Buying a bow before its required level, or switching to a gun without training and bullets.
Sending your pet through cave floors, jumping down with an active pet or leaving Growl on in a group.
