Blizzard updated the WoW Forever beta on October 8 with its fourth test build. Dungeon mobs now give roughly 20% more experience, group XP follows Classic Era rules, and critical strikes are no longer weakened in PvP. With less than a month until the November 4 launch, these changes directly affect how you will level to 30.
Dungeons and experience
Blizzard opened a new dungeon, City of Dalaran, on the beta. It does not have a Russian name yet. Dungeon mobs now give roughly 20% more experience.
The update also fixes a group XP bug. Previously, when you killed mobs below your level, the penalty was calculated using the highest-level party member. It now works as it does in Classic Era: only your own level is used. There is a catch, though: if someone in the party is far above the enemy's level, nobody receives experience.
Dungeon quest rewards were downgraded from rare to uncommon, with their stats adjusted accordingly. Blizzard also reduced the bonus XP for these quests on October 1: the extra experience they award over a normal quest is now half what it was.
Combat, PvP, and the Forsaken
You can once again swap multiple equipped hand items within a single global cooldown, such as using a macro to switch from a two-handed weapon to a sword and shield. Critical strikes are no longer weakened in PvP.
There is also a fix for the Forsaken (Russian): Will of the Forsaken can now be used even while you are asleep or under enemy control.
Legacy and talent resets
All beta participants received credit for the Legacy Challenge and were awarded 16 Legacy Points. The cheapest talent reset now costs 1 silver, and the price drops by one tier every hour. Blizzard marks this as a beta-only rule.
What Wowhead reports
Wowhead reports that resurrection at a Spirit Healer now removes 25% of your gear's durability instead of 50%. This is not listed in Blizzard's official notes, so it remains unconfirmed.
Wowhead also reports a substantial nerf to downranking, which means casting lower ranks of spells. On October 1, Blizzard officially announced that ranks far below your level benefit less from spell power and trigger talent effects less often. The October 8 notes adjust rank scaling for Frostbolt, Fireball, Arcane Missiles, Smite, Lesser Heal, Heal, Lightning Bolt, and Shadow Bolt, but give no specific numbers.
