On October 14, the official World of Warcraft YouTube channel released "Launch Dungeons," a video about Forever's new dungeons. Nine will be available at launch, and the video showcases three: the Alliance's first dungeon beneath Ironforge, the ruined castle above Undercity, and an excavation in the Wetlands.
Hall of Thanes
Located beneath Ironforge's throne room, this is the Alliance's first dungeon and its answer to the Horde's Ragefire Chasm. Dark Iron dwarves are looting the kings' tombs, while disturbed spirits roam the halls. No Russian name has appeared in the materials yet.
Ruins of Lordaeron
This dungeon is entirely outdoors, in the ruined castle above Undercity, with the Scourge and a necromancer as enemies. The new lighting and fog affect gameplay: visibility is poor, and it pays to pull enemies into the light.
Excavation Site: Wetlands
A dungeon for around level 30 in the Wetlands, already playable on the beta. A dwarven expedition has gone missing, raptors nest in the tall grass, and some of them hide in stealth.
Existing dungeons are changing too
The video says that experience, boss loot, and quest rewards in existing dungeons have also been reworked. In a PC Gamer interview, Clay Stone said the original internal plan had four new dungeons, then six, and finally nine as the team's ambitions grew.
